RE: MTSU game thread
Good Morning Blazers, it was a rough game last night, but I made it through to the end, it was bad on radio, but it had to be worst looking at it.
Mature players in a system that they have played in since their freshmen years sure makes a different.
Ok, dont take this the wrong way and start shouting, but MD system may have made the game more competitive, because of the reason I just stated.
Coach is headed in the right direction, he is building for our future, we all knew we would have to take some lumps, bumps and dumps before we could take leaps and bounds.
One of the problem I see is there appear to be no role players or identifiable leaders on this team. The obvious players to fill the roles of team leaders would be Williams, Swing and PP, but only Williams appears to be vocal or charismatic enough to demand the attention of his teammates.
I am not worried about this transitional period, I knew it would happened it takes time for players to jell in a new system, trust themselves and others to score and defend the basket.
What concerns me is players not scoring, rebounding, defending, and taking care of the basketball. We have a team with only 2 players that could be considered a 4 or 5 ( which means dont dribble more then 5 bounces) the rest are 1, 2, and 3's.
Unlike at UNC we should have been able to defend the 1,2,3, positions that killed us last night.
I believe Hasse will reevaluate his starters and the roles of the bench, but ultimately, I know Coach is building for the long term and that is exciting to me.
Saturday cant get here fast enough, we have to get this out of our system and get a win.
GO BLAZERS
