RE: Tulsa fires AD
Hopefully, their next AD won't take a gamble on who they hire on staff. I'd bet they get someone with great ethics for the right amount of money. 07-coffee3

Winning C-USA has been a harbinger of especially bad luck for the past couple of years . . . . It's just odd.

He got caught watching the official signal to pressbox and didn't play the ball.

You've got to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.

In brief,

He was documented during a 2009 FBI investigation of an OKC bookie to say he bet on college football. He actually wrote a check ($1,800 or something) to the bookie. At the time, he was director of football operations at Tulsa. The criminal case file was sealed.

He informed TU that he was cooperating with an FBI investigation involving gambling as a family member was involved with it. He was asked if he was betting and he said outside of friendly golf bets on the course, no.

He was hired as AD earlier this year.

A civil case was filed as a result of the FBI investigation. It was not sealed. An OKC reporter going through the file for an investigative report on the bookie saw Parmely's name in the documents as 'an admitted gambler' and that he had written a check to the bookie.

He breaks the news based on the civil case.

Parmley is suspended.
The NCAA heads into Tulsa and begins an intial investigation.
Parmley is fired for lying to the president and for violating NCAA rules.
