This is just turing into a joke. Tony Greco said BB had been looking to go to the NFL in about 5 years and Pitt was PC's on the job training until he slid into Madison. It just happened quicker than they thought.

This is a really bad time too because of the big recruiting weekend coming up. I really hope he makes a public statement within the next 24 hours saying he is going to stay. I don't think the program can survive another HC with new staff, etc, etc.

Public Statements mean very little.

But I tend to think that Chryst is one of the good guys. I think he will be staying in town. It will be an interesting couple of weeks as Wisky does their search. Hopefully Alverez leaves Pitt alone lol.

I saw on another board some posts from former players and others claiming to be connected that Chryst will stay at Pitt and that an announcement will come soon.

God help us if he doesn't. I sure hope this is truth.

I'm not too worried about this yet although we will get hit with negative recruiting just based on all the chatter. And better hope that whoever they hire is a big success because if the job opens in 3 or 4 years time he's gone.

We'll have to live with that.

I would hope that Pedersen is tying him up with an extension. Otherwise Pedersen should be fired the minute Chryst resigns.

Awesome. I'll post it in its entirety:

Chryst: "I understand the speculation around my name given today's developments. I am committed to the Pitt football program and the University of Pittsburgh. I am focusing all my time and energy on our team's bowl game preparation and recruiting a great group of young men to join our program and this outstanding university. We are working hard every day to re-establish this program and I am excited about the future of Pitt football."

This is per Sam Werner - @SWernerPG on Twitter.
