Another OUTSTANDING police officer
Whistleblower on NYPD over quotas and mandatory ticketing.

Of course with the Obama administration's policy toward whistleblowers, he will be indefinitely detained, waterboarded, then subject to rendition.

It will be interesting to see where this goes along with Bloomberg's reaction.

One of my friends in the MPD occasionally gets assigned interstate duty and he'll admit that their is an unofficial quota. The city of Brownville, TN may be the most offensive with the law. Court costs for a speeding ticket will cost you $225 and you'll be pulled over off of I40 for anything over 75 (my 76 in a 70 is proof). Not a coincidence that city is full of beautiful public buildings and brand new patrol cars.

It goes on everywhere. I have a friend in the NCHP that confirmed to me the existence of an "unwritten" quota system. His advice...don't go over 9 miles an hour above the speed limit and you will likely never get a ticket.

Speed limits should be optional except in school zones. Change it to "Recommended Speed Limit". If, however, you wreck while going above the limit it is automatically your fault.

same thing with Stop signs. They should all be Yield signs unless in a school zone.
