That could be a problem. If you use a flashlight, it won't hurt. However, if you insist on using a flame, we made need to coat the ball in some fire-retardant salve. You are making me have to think hard about this.

As to early ball lighting, I am willing to stick my neck out and let you do it early AND late - all night, in fact. Plus, I will get (or pay for) permission from the hotel so as not to disturb (or excite) the other guests.

I'v got my work cut out for me so that you guys can have a meaningful and pleasant ball lighting experience.

Whoever comes with the nicest looking one and is willing to let us light it.

In a pinch, we could use mine, but mine is old and it's lost some of its size over the years. Plus, it might not light as well as a newer one.

The Orange Bowl and the City of Fort Lauderdale have partnered together since 2011 to host the annual Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown, the premier New Year’s Eve celebration in South Florida. Anyone know how our allotment sales are going? Regardless if the MAC covers us or not, it would still be much more respectable if we sold at least 10k.

I am also setting up a parade of Miami Beach nursing home patients. It will be an all-wheel chair and walker parade for two blocks. Right now, I have my people down there trying to corral some participants expected to still be alive on January 1.

I am so busy that I do not know which end is up (this time literally). Why do I always seem to get stuck being the social activity organizer?

Two blocks? How long does it last for, eight hours?

Hey, we need to entertain you guys for a long time! It's our mission!!

I'd rather watch paint dry.

I think the paint would dry first.

You guys will get old one day, too. And when that happens, I'll just laugh as you tool along with your walker and I drive by in my Ferrari with a drop-dead gorgeous babe in the front seat. (And no, I will NOT have to blow her up - but she may need to blow ME up!)

As far as NYE dinner, I think acceptable attire must be some kind of Red and Black. Tuxedos optional.

RE: Orange Bowl Activities
For anyone planning on going to the Game Day Fan Zone, they are dumping tickets on ticketliquidator.com I got 4 for $3 each. Add in fees and I paid about $7 per person.

I'm not sure if I will go, but for less than $30, I won't feel bad about wasting them. I have kids, they might have fun.

I'm planning on getting my game tix from NIU, but there's no need to pay face value for the Fan Zone.
