Un-freaking-believable!

Just goes to show you that there is some big-time wealth among Huskie Nation. So, why does that not translate into more sizable donations to the HASF and capital campaigns? Why do we have such a small season ticket base? Are these people only willing to part with the bucks when there is a high publicity event and trip to Florida?

I was going to say that it makes a difference who the opponent is. But supposedly it doesn't. 05-stirthepot

NIU e-mail:

Huskie Fans,

There has been a tremendous response to our travel packages and we wanted to give everyone an update. We have sold out a second charter flight and are currently working through everyone on the wait list to secure a THIRD charter flight.

We have completely sold out ALL packages at the Fontainebleau and the Eden Roc Renaissance. We have secured additional hotel accommodations at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Miami. Please visit niusportstravel.com to view the new packages available and to secure your reservations.

These are first come first serve packages so reserve your spot as quickly as possible. We want to flood Miami with Red and Black Huskie Fans!

I think that message is old, I've seen it posted on here before, and the website has everything listed as sold out still.

Possibly. You can sign up everyone's e-mail on the travel package that your group is interested but I would just look on Expedia and get something myself...if I had the money.

I would NOT wait much longer though. The better/closer hotel rooms are just about gone.

When is the Huskie Mobile departing?

You might be able to stop in Atlanta and check out the Chik-fil-A bowl on the way.
Too early, leaving on the 27th. Good idea though!

Now, in addition to worrying about you falling out of the upper deck at the Orange Bowl, I have to worry about you drowning in the Atlantic Ocean!

RE: Alumni Travel packages
Hotel room reservations were picked by the Orange Bowl. So I am sure that there are only so many rooms reserved(that NIU has to pay for) for each team...

You also have to figure for some people they view this as once in a lifetime change to see NIU in a BCS game..

Like $600 via Washington DC. What a joke, huh? And they usually depart in the middle of the night.

Wow, around the price of a plane. Unreal.

More air/charter packages at the Hyatt Regency have just opened up. This will probably sell out with the speed of light.

RE: Alumni Travel packages
FWIW, I'll be in Florida for a week, including a drive to Miami, but I got around 250 bucks air fare from D.C. to Orlando and will drive from there.

Air fares, car rentals, etc. vary alot depending on destination and I'd assume MIA is very high.

Car rental for a week around 425 but that is virtually unavoidable as there is approximately 17% tax which really jacks up even a decent rental.

This is actually a good deal when you consider that non-stop RT flights from Chicago to Miami are around $1,500 - if you can even find them now.

Is that first class??? I can still find round trip flights for $507. (non-stop on the way down and 1 stop coming back up)...$743 for non-stop both ways.

If you can find non-stop fares that low, you should book them.
