No West schools. Just add eastern schools and slide USM & UAB over to the West.

UAB does not want to go west. MTSU is closer than Memphis State and we have a long history with UNCC and were in the belt with wku and odu.

I'd hate to lose the Herd as a division-mate. One of the ones I'm STOKED about being in a conference with.

Really looking forward to making trips to Charlotte. I'll probably come down for the basketball games as well.

RE: If Tulsa and UTEP leave for the MWC......
I watched the game through illegal feed. It was posted on bobcatfans forum, page 5 of gameday thread. And read my previous post, I said that actual attendance and paid attendance is exactly the same to me. 99% of mid-majors have attendance problems at some point. But let's not kid ourselves and claim paid attendance for actual.
No Texas State to replace Tulsa and/or UTEP. I think if our AD has any say in it, she'd block it. I guess I'm a hater, but I'm just returning the favor.

Tulane is still in CUSA and I still care about teams in this conference and their well being.

Arkansas State
Western Kentucky
Texas State
But it will probably be them 3 plus NMSU.
This is where I think CUSA is headed............
CUSA WEST--North Texas, UTEP, Tulsa, UTSA, Texas State, NMSU, Rice, Arkansas St, LaTech
CUSA EAST--FAU, FIU, Marshall, Southern Miss, Old Dominion, Charlotte, UAB, WKU, MTSU
Your sniffing is getting close. There will be some more losses but for conversation in addition to above add ULM and ULL to the West along with South Al and Troy in the East. Thats eleven on each side, playoff game, and travel expenses reduced considerably.
ULM & ULL won't get an invite as long as Tech's in CUSA
La Tech is NOT an official member of cusa at this time and has NO vote until 6-1-2013.
Thank you....their arrogance is on display again. Sheeesh!

How do you know? Are you voting? What's you title at MTSU?

As a Missouri State fan, I will admit we aren't ready to move up in football and our basketball team is absolutely terrible this year but young, I would expect us to be a top 40 team in 2 years though.
Here is a quite lengthy article about the state of our football program and where our new president wants to take it. He wants to remove the track and rebuild the east side of our stadium in the next 18 months.
LINK Smart: football vital to MSU
We have the facilities to compete in every other sport.
Basketball
volleyball
softball
baseball (share with AA Cardinals)
hockey(do any CUSA schools even play hockey?)

Some may have it as a club sport but nothing other than that.

If you're talking about the Ragin' Cajuns, that would be pretty hilarious. LA Tech fans have really been rubbing ULL's face in the dirt about getting into CUSA. For ULL to get in an even better conference would just kill them.
Hopefully USM is involved in the MWC discussions as well... there's absolutely no reason we should have to be mentioned in the same breath as sports nonentities like GSU or Missouri State.

I like it. But check the attendance:

Really don't think CUSA Commish' Banowsky will want to bring in another Texas-based school, but in all fairness to TSU-San Marcos, think of all those pics we've seen of Tulane U in the Super Dome with what looks like just the stadium attendants in attendance at some of their football games. Just sayin'...

Would you really want to leave the MVC?
If you want to move up, here is what you should do IMO. Schedule as many games as possible with teams in the SBC, MAC and CUSA on the road. Drop the idea you want to play Arkansas, Missouri, Ok St etc becuase that doesn't get your foot in the door with a conference you are really interested in and can get in. You need to schedule more events in Tulsa or Denton or Ruston or Monroe or Laffeyette or Jonesborro in all sports. Make that a priority - first and foremeost. In effect, just bypass the idea you are competing with the MVFBC.
Then recruit with the idea you are competing above and beyond the league you are presently in (MVFBC).
See you in Tulsa at "the Don" (MBB) Wednesday night.
IMO.
