Okay. None of my questions were directed towards Troy fans, but thanks for answering.

You dont understand how the Sun Belt board works dude...We stick up for each other over here unlike your CDOA friends. You pick one one of us we all get involved.

Thats just how it is.

We don't have any CUSA friends anymore since we have moved on from that conference

From what I gathered on the CUSA board, ECU's arrogance didn't give you much support in your conference. Not to worry, though, as LA Tech has picked up the arrogance and is taking it to another level.

Last I checked ECU is still apart of CUSA this year AND NEXT YEAR...Own it.

But if thats the case can we count ECU as a Big East win?

Sure

How would you feel if you were in a conference where your athletic budget was twice everyone else's, your facilities were nicer, you averaged 50,000 while everyone else averaged 25,000 and you won your conference games at an 80% clip and the best you got for winning the conference was the freaking Liberty Bowl. After 10 years, it gets old.

I'm sorry you got tired of CUSA, doesn't excuse you coming over here, looking down on the Sun Belt and just being a general prick. Play nice or leave.

My original OP was dead serious. I did not know UL did not respond to U La La....... since that is all I have every seen them referred to as on other boards.

And I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one, but you haven't been the most well mannered guest, even in this "less smacky" thread.

I dont feel like arguing with the entire Sun Belt.... the only reason I came over here was for a scouting report. I got the scouting report. Now I shall depart. Good luck to everyone.

Just thought I would give you a little heads up on the game---For the first time the NO Bowl will have the MVP 2 straight years----Gautier will start and break his passing yardage mark of 469 yards!!! Sometimes after being so banged up and having such a lack up depth, We seem to now be loaded at many positions!!!!

From a guy who came here acting like a pompous ass. I've been more than courteous to other fans of ECU that have visited here, but you have given us no reason to show you any kind of respect.

(12-02-2012 11:34 AM)Chappy Wrote:  What are your thoughts on the game? Who are the key players for ULL? It will probably feel like a home game for the Cajuns, though I expect a healthy number of Pirates will make the trip.

Key players for the Cajuns:
  • Terrance Broadway: Took over for our injured 2011 NOLA Bowl MVP QB (Blaine Gautier) in the 5th game of the season to present day. After our losses to North Texas and ASU, our offense finally began clicking again.
  • Harry Peoples: "Make-it-happen Harry" Most dynamic player on the field for us. Our best overall football player. Slot receiver that makes every catch, and will create some mismatches.
  • Brett Baer: 2011 NOLA Bowl hero and most accurate kicker in college football. Great weapon to have in punting and kicking.
  • Justin Hamilton: Our anchor on the defensive line, will create mismatches at the line of scrimmage and demand double teams. Very special player.

I haven't seen ECU play this year, so I can't really speak on the match-up, but as far as what you can expect:

Cajuns will probably try to be as balanced as possibly offensively (more-so than this regular season) running and passing the ball. We'll feed a combination of Alonzo Harris and Torrey Pierce/Effrem Reed the ball if they're making good runs. Broadway will throw first and only run when he needs to - but is a very good scrambler. We'll probably try to get Harry Peoples going on some quick throws early and often. Our O-line has stayed healthy for the most part, with a few dingers throughout the season.

On defense, we switched from a 3-4 back to a 4-3 base after some injuries sustained by our LB corp. We've been pretty successful moving back to the 4-3. We have two talented corners in Jemarlous Moten and Melvin White. DT Justin Hamilton will cause havoc on the line and create opportunities for other defenders to get pressure on the QB.

Thanks for the serious response. +3

Will he really be the starter? I thought Broadway was having a good enough year that they would stick with him.

Well since this one became the smack thread too because of NBPirate might as well stay here. Either way in all seriousness it should be a good game, most likely a lot of points scored, and probably a very good crowd to see it.

ECU also lost to Navy in a blow out who Troy beat this year....Troys worst loss of the year was to UL.

Also There will be at minimum 40k+ UL fans in attendance. ECU wont be able to match that. Its a home field advantage for UL.

The Navy loss is an anomaly and can be attributed to our DCs failure to understand the triple option. The transitive property does not work in football folks. Why do ppl think that we're gonna be impressed by a crowd of 40k? I don't get it.

That's 40,000 rooting for the other guys. Not for ECU.
