North Carolina
North Carolina is 5-2 on the season after losing two of their last three games. Butler beat them by 11 points on a neutral court, while Indiana beat them by 24 points at Indiana. NC's best win to date is a 15-point victory over Long Beach State.

KenPom has North Carolina rated as the 16th best team in the nation. He gives NC a 92% probability of winning their game against UAB on Saturday. The projected score is 81-63.

KenPom projects North Carolina to come in 2nd place behind Duke in the ACC this season. NC plays in the Dean E. Smith Center, which has a capacity of 21,750. That is the 4th largest college basketball arena in D-1.

NC's star player is 6-9/230 James Michael McAdoo. He is a poor free throw shooter and is no threat to shoot three pointers, but he is a beast close to the basket in scoring and securing rebounds.

North Carolina has four players who pump up three pointers. Reggie Bullock (6-7 205) is hitting 47% of his 3's right now, while Leslie McDonald (6-5 215) is hitting 46% of his 3's.

UAB's Robert Williams is hitting 47% of his 3's, while Jordan Swing is right behind at 45%. Fahro Alihodzic is hitting 92% of his free throws (22-24). Three other players have only missed two free throws so far this season - Terrance Jones, Isiah Jones, and Preston Purifoy.

UAB's worst free throw shooter, by far, is Rod Rucker. Rod has hit 16-33 for 46.5%.

It appears North Carolina is not a very good free throw shooting team.

Reggie Bullock is currently day-to-day with a hand injury.

Take Rucker's free throws out of the teams percentage and UAB's team FT goes from 74% to 82%

And it doesn't look unsalvageable with Rucker. He's got a decent stroke; it doesn't look like he should have those numbers based on form. I feel like he'll come around.

So we can make free throws. We need to get to the line more. I want to see us attack the rim harder. Of course, the downside to that tomorrow is that we probably won't get a call unless blood is drawn.

Good luck getting to the free throw line more than the home team in Chapel Hill, NC., no matter how bad this particular Tar Heels team is perceived to be.

Aren't we starting the "we lost because of home cooking officiating" a wee bit early. I mean at least wait to game day.

RE: North Carolina
I watched the LBSU game. They play a similar style as we do. They gave them fits and it was a close game until the end. I predict a similar game is our coaches and team are not too tight.

I can't get the video to play but I assume it is the Crawford quote aboute USM. Funniest quote of last year.

"They little buttholes got tight in the second half"
