Don't discount GT to the Big Ten, I think there's something to that.
From GT's perspective, it's a no brainer. They are the little brother to UGA, they have to fight for everything, even in Atlanta, in the battle with UGA. The Big Ten is would be a big change in the Atlanta sports landscape, sure it's not the Big Ten, but I sincerely believe there will be much more hype around Atlanta if Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Nebraska are coming to Bobby Dodd, than anyone in the ACC short of maybe Florida State and Clemson...
From a Big Ten perspective, why not try and make inroads in SEC country? You don't think the Big Ten would like to try and get in on more southeastern recruiting? They definitely have no problem stacking up to the high academic standards of the Big Ten. And let's not of course forget, they are in a major market, one the Big Ten has little to no stake in currently.
If the Big Ten goes to 16, I think both come from the ACC and I think both will be south of Maryland. If the Big Ten could land GT/UNC they'd be doing somersaults right now and I think they'd settle for GT/UVA if UNC isn't interested, but as much as UNC is synonymous with the ACC, I think a Big Ten offer would be hard to turn down. The Big Ten generates a ton of money, so does UNC, I think they could both get even richer together...but if they aren't interested, I think they'd view GT/UVA as a nice consolation prize.
