We'll take that challenge.
We will take every bit of that too.
I'm glad they have this shiny ranking but prove it on the floor.
I think Shifty was replying to my tongue-in-cheek statement, by saying they'll take that challenge (meaning they'll still be here).
We have proven it on the floor with recruiting classes that weren't ranked even close to this one. The shiny badge comes with bigger guns.

It will be fun when your coach comes back home to Ruston and we should have a pretty solid team for the next couple of years.

Next season though is THE season: a five star recruit, four star recruits, the Washburns, Twymond Howard plus the C-USA Tournament at home in El Paso equals the top class in the league and the favorites to win the league and the tournament.
UTEP or UAB next season, UAB will be really good next year. Return everybody relevant and will have 5/6 seniors on the team. Plus a good recruiting class coming in.

FWIW, we're not playing as well as we'd hoped, so this year could be much more competitive than some had thought.

UTEP definitely deserves better than the cards they've been dealt concerning realignment. I'd love to see them hook up with the likes of San Diego State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State, UNLV, and BYU.

Impressive, didn't know UTEP was where Tim Floyd ended up.

Could be, though if Memphis continues to play with the intensity shown Thursday night, they'll be a tough out for anyone.

It would be nice to go back and play some of our old WAC rivals, but I hate the fact that we are always left behind. We should not be begging to be let in any conference, we have a good thing going here in El Paso and with the crazy tuition rates we should be able to hire Tony Dungy as our new hc (this is a joke of course). Floyd is getting our basketball reputation back in order and if our administration did not screw the pooch and keep Price five years too long we might be the belle of the ball instead of the old maid. We now have the opportunity to hire a big name coach , regenerate excitement in our stalled football program and get us back on the right track. We have to spend money, heck put it on credit, in order to try to make some. Bob Stull better not mess this up, and in 3 to 5 years of both sports doing well maybe , just maybe, we can do a TCU and go to a major conference instead of being part of the left overs ( no offense to any of our fellow conference mates that are in the same boat as us).
