RE: Battle for the Bones vs. MTSU?
I'm hoping there's another "trophy game" rivalry with someone in the conference in the near future now that Memphis is gone, along with just about every (bleeping) body else in Conference USA. Southern Miss would be, IMO, the most logical opponent to strike such a game up with, that is, unless they're planning to leave the damn conference, too.

If I am reading right, Memphis has home games with UCLA, Ole Miss and Tennessee in one year. That is damn impressive.

Rivalries are not part of the new college landscape.

That is why they aren't in the cusabelt anymore. They have an admin that does their job.

RE: Battle for the Bones vs. MTSU?
Yep, scales. So much for rivalries...
As for the folks coming out of the woodwork to play Memphis it's due to the fact that they need, with all the shakeups, to get their homecoming/patsy in there to keep them bowl eligible. Heh, Memphis is about to be real popular.
Now "real" successful is an entirely different matter...
I stand by the assertion that if we aren't going to play them in a rivalry game any more then the trophy needs to return to its mutable state. Time ole Hephaestus melted that ***** back down so we can form it into a new trophy for a new rivalry (or they can, since they after all won it last if not most).

Actually, it is. As a catering business. And the owner, Kenyatta Pumphrey, has told me whenever I'm in the area, he'll make me a special order of Death Row Wings.
He also still competes in the annual Hot Chicken Festival, of which he's a five-time reigning champion.
