I wonder if the support is not there with MTSU, FIU, and FAU leaving.

That's half the east division. And the west division presidents may be less keen on a school that far east.

I don't think so. Benson has not been given authorization to approach anyone yet... I think that is the issue. What positive development comes from Cobb saying he has been scrambling for information, and that he hopes to talk to Benson soon? If they have been talking, wouldn't it have been better to give the reporter information as background... or to say that he is not ready to comment? Why take the extra step by publicly saying essentially: "I don't know anything more than you do"?

This president knows that Sun Belt needs go to 12...

Clearly the remaining presidents don't know which schools they want yet..

App. State should be first, Ga. Southern 2nd, NMSU 3rd.. Now the 4th school I don't know,
But you be better with Liberty then SHSU there no where close to being ready...

I'm glad Cobb did the interview and that he has been on the phone all day. That is a good sign for App fans. Some have questioned if App is serious about the more this confirms yet again that we are.

Not the administration as far as I know, but they've upgraded the heck out of their facilities, and for what, who knows.

JMU and App are really alike, good matchup and rivalry waiting there.

App, Southern, SHSU, and UNI are all proven football programs in I-AA, and UNI is a solid basketball program. You appease the two major sports.

our admin loves to lurk in the shadows and say nothing. even our highest donors don't know jack squat as to where our program stands on moving up to IA. new president back in july who may feel like "tackling bigger problems" on the academic side.

I gurantee that the FCS teams AD are on the phone weekly with the SBC offices.

Our AD said in a Radio interview today that he has made a weekly call to ALL (and he did mean ALL, including the SBC offices) conferences to keep in touch with them in order to act in "the best interest of the University and its Student Athletes". He called CUSA on Friday just to check in, and that was the first inclination that there was going to be a shift. The process gained steam on Monday with phone calls back and forth. FAU met internally on Tuesday to discuss strategy, and sent the official application over 3PM Wed after receiving word that if we applied we would be accepted.

Nothing was moving rumor wise until Wed, yet it was 90% done by then. They will NEVER say they are in talks.
