RE: Coaching Candidates
Well he beat an undefeated Ball State team in that game so there might be some coaching involved in that MACC. Most people are going to be "underwhelmed" by whoever we hire unless they are deeply aware of assistant coaches and FCS HC's. Gill was well thought of in the coaching community prior to going to Kansas and if all that stop proves is he can't be successful just anyplace at the BCS level I would take a chance on him. Best case scenario he does well here and from past experience waits for the right opportunity elsewhere instead of jumping at first chance. Worth an interview at lest.

RE: Coaching Candidates
One upset and his former player reputation earned him a shot at Kansas. I'll pass on coach gill.

RE: Coaching Candidates
He's a proven failure with an upset win to talk about on the plus side. Not feeling it for our program.

Agree that Gill may be worth interviewing if intertested.

But he's Tony Dungy without the substance.

KB is very conscience of her rating in the past with the BCA. But if she interviews Gill who is a more realistic, than most candidates interviewed by her ( unlike an unknown rb coach to get his name out there) there will be more pressure for her to do more than interview him. I see Gill ( if interviewed) and Perles, Jr as having legitimate shots

How the hell does Idaho go out and get Paul Petrino as their next HC, and we are still making up our mind about a search firm? Oh yea, that's right Idaho is rolling in the money and they don't have hockey

RE: Coaching Candidates
Idaho is flat out BROKE. I heard they interviewed Bennett as well.

He's a midwest guy who's been an assitant HC in the B1G and his own HC at a FCS school. Has his name been on any lists here?

RE: Coaching Candidates
Idaho is a lot of things, but have to give them credit for going out and getting a name/coach that will get their fans excited

RE: Coaching Candidates
I do give them credit, they seem to do that a lot, but then like MAC programs either burn out their coach and end of firing them or lose them.

Would Skip Holtz be a name WMU fans would get excited about?

The NIU job just got a bigtime jolt as the first game the coach coaches in is the Orange Bowl. Nice deal for the new hire. Can't believe they have not jumped in their hiring status just hope it does not outdo working for our admin here03-lmfao

RE: Coaching Candidates
Maybe Joe Novack would come back Bruce Snyder style...Skip Holtz did do a nice job at ECU but that run at USF was pretty awful and they weren't without talent. I don't see a recent fire that makes sense (especially since their buyouts are likely more than the salary here). At this point I am pretty sure our hire is not going to be someone I've heard of since I don't have a wealth of knowledge about FCS HC's and I'm fairly certain if we were going with a Rock, Schaffer, etc... we'd have done so by now. My guess is that KB has moved down from the short list if we don't get some news by early next week.
