The SWAC as a whole is a much improved basketball league. Texas Southern battled Colorado to double OT just a few days ago.

I never felt bad about that game. Those guys could play. And I liked how energetic (crazy?) their coach was. He had the attitude that he expected to win. That's never a bad thing.

Prairie View A&M 0-0 4-5
Alabama A&M 0-0 2-3
Alcorn State 0-0 2-5
Arkansas-Pine Bluff 0-0 1-5
Southern University 0-0 1-5
Texas Southern 0-0 1-6
Jackson State 0-0 0-4
Mississippi Valley State 0-0 0-4
Alabama State 0-0 0-5
Grambling State 0-0 0-5
Look, I know you're a fan of the league, but come on. It's still at the bottom of college basketball. It's like a kid who gets an F telling his parents his grade has risen from a 50 to a 55.

Prairie View, independently, is not in the bottom half though. They lost at Texas Tech by 10, at Texas A&M by 12, at UAB by 6 and TCU by 5. They beat Houston and Navy. That's a far cry from the SWAC teams of old.

KenPom has the SWAC as the worst conference in the country. However, most SWAC teams have played more difficult schedules than UAB at this point.
Alcorn State beat Samford in OT.
Prairie View beat Navy and Houston (which has to give the Big East a good feeling).
Southern beat South Dakota.
Texas Southern beat Louisiana Lafayette

I know the results of the ball games but those games have been tightly contested. For years SWAC teams have hit the road during the out of conference season and taken 30 and 40 arse kickings, this is not the case now. The Wins haven’t come but at least these teams aren’t just lying down like in the past.

They are 2-1 since playing UAB.
They beat Navy, lost to Fairleigh Dickinson, and best Houston.
