I sure hope Louisville doesn't leave
Just so they can burn in hell with the rest of us. I'm tired of their cocky arrogance and thinking they are so much better than the rest. Just because they invested some money into a stadium off campus at that, they think they're more attractive than anyone else. Here's the truth about Loserville. For a long time, they played their football games in a freaking minor league baseball stadium that was a dump to begin with. Memphis may not have invested much in football over the years, but we never played in such a dumpy facility. Even the old Crump stadium was nicer.
They had to get a heavy donation from Pap Johns just to get out of that dump and into a new stadium. Otherwise, UL would have been passed up long time ago and even by Memphis.
And their basketball program has been all about 2 names. Denny Crum and Rick Pitino. They have yet to have to deal with a new coach who is in training like Memphis has had to with Pastner.

RE: I sure hope Louisville doesn't leave
I want Louisville to stay for the sake of Cinci and Memphis.
I want Fresno added for the sake of Boise and SDSU.
UCF has USF, and can live with ECU. I will be very happy if a UCF football conference schedule consists of USF, Louisville, Cinci, Boise State, and ECU. Basketball with Memphis, UofL, Temple, Georgetown, Marquette, Cinci, SDSU (affiliate) etc, is icing on the cake.
I can live with the Tulane + ECU invites if it provides some stability with the basketball schools (who adding Tulane appears to be a move to sate) SO LONG as we add a football school out deep west. Get Fresno in.

Papa Johns only donated 5million towards the stadium, and the majority of the proceeds for the stadium came from the community with NO state assistance what so ever. So yea we played in a baseball stadium big deal, but there was always a dream of having are own stadium to call home, and guess what we have one that is an elite stadium which is a top 10 or 15 stadium in the country. So pull what ever you have up your ass out and get over what ever your problem is.

I can assure any Big East member that if an opportunity presents itself to any member that is better than the Big East, the member school will jump. This conference is a marriage of convenience for all members.

RE: I sure hope Louisville doesn't leave
He does not speak for all Tiger fans!! Most of us understand that we have made our own bed and now must lie in it, this fan wants badly to be reunited with U of L and Cincy but totally understand you have to take care of number #1 first. If we got invited to the Big 12 today we would be gone, just like all others. I was really hoping we could turn the nBE into a solid league and was looking forward to it but I guess all bets are off now. When does the carousel stop????

Maybe Papa can throw a few bones your way for a remedial spelling lab. Of course, the community won't rally for that cause.
I'm with the OP. I want Louisville fans in CUSA 2.0. Their misery is my happiness.

Agreed, but let's not act like anyone left in this conference deserves something better. If that were the case, you'd be gone already.

Angry much? We passed up Memphis State over a decade ago. We're moving onto greener pastures away from programs like yours. At some point you just have to accept that. Maybe you can start a new rivalry with SMU or ECU or whoever replaces us?

The self-inflated ego is just too funny. You have the academic profile of a junior college. You call yourself an urban research university, which is fine except for the fact that only the urban part is true. In football, you just let UConn block you from a Big East title, and you'll be back to mediocre once your coach is poached.
And you're on the way up? Really?
IF you end up with a life raft out of this conference, don't forget what you really are: one of the last kids picked in kickball. And when the power conferences trim it down to four, you'll be one of the first ones kicked to the curb.
You've earned nothing. You deserve nothing. You might want to remember that the next time you're inclined to act like college royalty.
