I'm not angry, I'm disappointed. I was excited for the ODU-ECU rivalry, but it looks like we'll play at ECU next year without much of a guarantee we'll ever see you guys in Norfolk. Oh well, it is what it is, at least we still have UNC-C and Marshall.

It will be the CAA or ASUN.

What incentive does A10 have to bring ECU into the fold?

I just thought the A10 may take them after the BE3.4 Basketball schools break off and take the top of the A10 with them. That would be X, St. Bonaventure, Dayton, Rhode Island, Butler, VCU.

That would leave the A10 with this:

St Joes
Richmond
George Washington
St Louis
LaSalle
Fhordam
Duquesne

A-10 will preserve that league at all costs. I wouldn't be surprised if they added Creighton and Wichita State.

switch out st bonnie & URI with St Louis and Richmond and you're probably correct.

If so I would add George Mason in there too. Mason just didn't make the cut earlier this year. And maybe Drexel.

They could always use another Duquesne, Fordham or La Salle, why not? 05-stirthepot

My money's on ECU back to the CAA. A bit of an awkward return, but I'm sure the CAA wouldn't turn down a regional rival for UNCW and (assuming they come) Charleston.

Why would ECU want to kill their baseball program by joining the A-10?

Best hope would be SoCon for ECU hoops and baseball. Perfect fit IMO.

No worries here man, the shake up isn't finished. We are just excited to be playing football next year 02-13-banana

Wouldn't shock me to see ODU on the short list if there are more eastern defections.

Norfolk's newspaper is reporting talks between ECU and CAA officials.

ECU + George Mason would put the A-10 at an even 16 and clearly above the CAA.

I'm reading rumors of ecu to the CAA for Olympic sports. Makes sense if cusa kicks you out and you want to save money in a regional conference.

A-10 is already clearly ahead of CAA even with Temple joining the Big East. If ECU joined George Mason in the CAA the A-10 would still be ahead.

Crazy things have happened with expansion so I'm not going to guarantee anything but I highly doubt ECU joins the A-10 for Olympic Sports.

I don't get this at all. What do we actually gain by making this move? Do we get to negotiate our own TV contracts?

As soon as the basketball teams leave the BE (if ever) then ECU will be playing their other sports in the BE (or whatever its called then) along with a lot of the rest of those schools whose fans currently post here. Till then, the CAA.

SOCON or A-SUN unless he gets us into the A-10. We didn't leave the CAA on good terms.

We better not have to pay an exit fee. I don't like the football only move at all. I am angry about it.
