You do realize what he means by that. He means kill CUSA, westies go to MWC, easties go to the Sunbelt. I do NOT want to be in the Sunbelt, the CAA is a better option. CUSA /w MTSU and WKU is preferable.

My sources say Katy Highschool, Odessa Permian High School, and the Las Vegas Lobos.

RE: Who replaces Tulane?
If the Big East Loses Louisville, U Conn, & Cinncinati (for what ever reason) then I do believe Boise State & San Diego State will pull a U-turn back to the Mountain West. Then I see the nBE schools rebuilding CUSA in the Big East. Might look like this when all is said and done.

Houston
SMU
Tulane
Tulsa
Rice
Louisiana Tech
Southern Miss

USF
Temple
UCF
Memphis
ECU
Marshall
UAB

TA DA!!! CUSA 2.5!!!!!

Edit: In this I see UTEP (and maybe UTSA) getting an invite to Mountain West. The remaining new CUSA schools go to SunBelt, MAC, or Independent.

1. Marshall is idea for the Big East or MAC especially since ECU is gone.
2. Tulsa, UTEP, and Rice should look to the MWC.

As much as the Sun Belt gets dissed on this board, I think additions of Charlotte, ODU, UAB, USM, and the return of FIU would make for a very good Sun Belt conference.

Marshall would go indy before returning to the MAC. There 0% that that ever happens. Been there done that twice.

Ohio isn't coming to CUSA. We gain nothing. I'd take Marshall back but im not sure others would.

Who replaces Tulane?
James Madison. Appalachian State. Maybe Delaware.
Keep it on the east coast. Let the western teams move to the Mwc.

Western Kentucky for the East and Texas State for the West. Two stable programs that have a lot of potential.

True WKU and MTSU wouldn't be bad at all.

I was waiting on someone to bring up GaSouthern. The only problem is Market size the Savannah/Statesboro market only has about 700,000 people. But I would love to be in Conference USA.

01-wingedeagle Who is that?

It is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette who is now branding itself (legally) as Louisiana. Louisiana is the perfect replacement for Tulane in CUSA. It is the 2nd largest university in Louisiana, just spent $300M in on campus improvements and is about to announce a fully financed $100M Master Plan for athletics to improve all facilities and upgrade football to 52,000 seats. We sent 40,000 to the N. O. Bowl last year and were their first pick this year to return, likely playing either E. Carolina or Rice. Don't let LA Tech posters keep comparing us to ULM. Night and day differences. Louisiana is a Top 377 university by Princeton Review with nationally ranked PhDs in Computer Science, Engineering, Business and Nursing. Louisiana is a Rockefeller Institute of Government Top 100 public research university. Louisiana is a Top 10 fastest growing R&D universities in the US. Louisiana is a Carnegie Nationally Ranked Research University with a RU/H (Research University /High Research activity) rating, similar to Ole Miss, Auburn, Baylor and Alabama. Louisiana's research level is over $60,000,000 and growing and is more than double all UL Systems schools combined (including ULM & LA Tech). Louisiana's endowment is over $125,000,000 and growing and is more than all other UL Systems schools combined (including ULM and LA Tech). Louisiana has 17,000 students with projected enrollment to over 20,000 within 5 years. The combined statistical area per the 2010 US census has 560,000 people within 30 miles of Lafayette and over 800,000 within 50 miles of Lafayette (considered Acadiana) and doesn't include Lake Charles or Baton Rouge. Lafayette is considered the capital of Acadiana or French Louisiana. Louisiana is a perfect fit athletically, academically, and geographically for CUSA. When the real facts are known, I hope we are given consideration and that people are not swayed by negative posts by certain LA Tech posters.

RE: Who replaces Tulane?
Interesting to hear about the re-branding. Louisiana would be a fine candidate to replace Tulane. Louisiana & Texas State out west, MTSU & WKU farther east...at least we have options.

RE: Who replaces Tulane?
No point bringing up Arkansas State and Louisiana.
Sure the Cajuns are 16-8 the last two years (with a regular season game and a bowl game left)
And Arkansas State is 18-6 the last two years (with a regulars season game and a bowl game left)
Yeah the Cajuns finished first in the Sun Belt attendance last year and Arkansas State second and this year Arkansas State will likely be first and Louisiana second.

This game is about markets and Louisiana's is about the size of ECU and ASU's the size of USM.

Neither is on CUSA radar.
