This guy pretty much nails Black Friday
Mark Dice on is bullhorn in front of Best Buy
Quote:"Attention debt slaves, thank you for spending more money that you dont have on things that you dont need. Thank you for ruining the Thanksgiving of these poor workers that now have to work because you're so mindless you're lining up to buy the Chinese slave goods. Yes, you could be home with your family, but no, you're out here lining up to buy more garbage you don't need. Have a good Thanksgiving and thank you for ruining America and don't look in the mirror when you're wondering why this country is falling off a financial cliff."

The part in quotes begins at the 1:18 mark

When he says that they should be home with their families he should look in the mirror himself.

What a judgmental jerk. If people are having fun, who cares, many are with their families anyhow while shopping . And as Tommyboy says, he should talk.

Are you serious? This is absurd, even by your pathetically low standards, CD/CD1. Yes, I'm sure every single one of those shoppers personally pointed a gun at Best Buy's CEO Job Creator, informing him that they MUST, MUST open at midnight on Thanksgiving Night so they may buy cheap, consumable crap. No, it's not the CEO's fault his company can't pass up the bucks and stay closed late night Thanksgiving. Nope, as always, blame the victim.

And we're all pretty much sure why this country is heading off a "financial cliff:" Never-ending wars paid with credit.

Nice overtly racist post, CD/CD1. You keep lowering the bar.

Well, I did roll my eyes at those who were lining up outside the Columbia Heights Best Buy at 3 pm Thanksgiving, but CD/CD1's hilarious attempt to blame shoppers for these retail stores opening early and thus forcing their employees to miss Thanksgiving is beyond the pale.

Funny,we drove by Target in Battle Creek, saw a line as long as that in the video, and headed on home.

Yeah, he's a little over the top and some of his other videos are flat out kookie. But if you simply take the bullhorn speech he gave at Best Buy it pretty much wraps up what Black Friday has become.

He does one video where he stands outside of Best Buy and stops customers as if he's all excited about their big purchase. He then asks if they paid in cash or credit. 9 out of 10 times it's credit. In the end, whatever they think they're saving they'll lose in interest, late fees, and over limit fees.

Oh for sure. I've seen several news clips where moms are out at 12AM with toddlers. "People having fun," or trailer trash showing parenting skills that make you want to vomit?

As for the guy filming the lemmings, once again, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE MESSAGE, BLAME THE MESSENGER. 04-rock

So why isn't Dice ambushing retail CEOs outside their offices, asking why they insist on opening earlier and earlier for Black Friday? Oh right, wrong target of browbeating for his audience.

He's sick and you're disgusting as well.

RE: This guy pretty much nails Black Friday
I had a real stressful Black Friday, my lady left at 7:00, I got up, made breakfast and we went for a bike ride, took the dog to the dog park, came home to find my disgusted lady sitting there asking why she even thought going on Black Friday was a good idea, the tv that she was after was a bait and switch deal by Wally and Best Buy, what a surprise and a waste of three hours waiting for service to be rejected by stressed out floor workers and to deal with half baked, rude losers all day.!

We grilled out and enjoyed the weather. Woa it was something.

We have choices too, that's why I put that straw man out there the other day, I can't imaging why anyone would want a toy(s) so badly that they would submit to that behavior of waiting in line to spend their money. Things are backwards. Used to be we were the customer and they would pander to us, try to earn OUR BUSINESS, but that was when there was real competition and we were in a free market economy, not an economy that's geared towards Wall Street backed products and their margins at all costs.

It's pitch dark in that video. And when you do see people's faces most are white. I always have to laugh at "whitebread" guys like you who see or who want to see racism around every corner. It's a great crutch to have when people behave badly.

If you ever understood the concept of "content of character," you'd grasp just how unimportant skin color is. Oddly, most kids grasp it, few adults do. Most kids will choose their friends based on how they are treated by the other kid and if that kid has similar values. I don't even think they see skin color. Adults are far more judgmental, including those who put on the faux racial outrage bs.

Why do guys like you insist on keeping the Jim Crow era alive? Do you honestly believe that school segregation, or people being refused service in restaurants and hotels, is akin anything today? Please point out the equivalent circumstances.

I find it ironic that code words are being used now days, like calling out kids for being from the PSL.

RE: This guy pretty much nails Black Friday
The thing is some of us here do well financially, and it's not worth standing in line for hours to save
$100.00 or so, but for folks who have to count every penny, it might be worth it to them to invest the time to save a few bucks by standing in line to get something they might not normally buy. If that's how they want to spend their time, and money, more power to them.

If I were in their shoes, which I used to be, I might do the same. So many of our choices are influenced strongly by our circumstances and existing context. And honestly while I've never really bought something on Black Friday, the mass of humanity and energy intrigues me.

You know, that debate all started when I stated that the kids coming in would do better than the current group of seniors (and you can include Howard in that group) because they'd come up through better schools, etc. How's Nix been doing character wise?

No I can't prove that being educated in the PSL was a deciding factor, but nor can it be dismissed based on feel good PC politics. I don't see Hawk raiding the PSL much these days, read what you want into that.

To date I like what I see out of the new guys.

Watched another one of his videos where he asks how they paid for their purchase. Literally one after another coming out of the store said they paid it with credit. So are they really saving? Did they have the money to buy it? Clearly not.

When we teach small children economics we try to point out that your choices will effect another choice. In other words, if you spend money on a piece of electronics you may have to spend less on food or utilities.

LOL! You're so far gone you're fine with what you said, the value judgements you made, why you made them, how you supported them, and basically how many times you made a complete AZZ out of yourself here.

Yeah, I think we all get the personal responsibility thing, so lets start with not putting our wars on credit cards.

Exactly. For all we know, they're using their American Express cards or paying them off at the due date, as you just mentioned.

But don't let facts get in the way of classist browbeating. Remember: Class Warfare goes from the bottom up!
