Power shift in 757 High School Football?
The Peninsula and Southeastern District have dominated the 757 landscape in High School Football for a long time.

Is it Norfolk and Virginia Beach's turn?

The Beach District and Eastern District reign as long time powerhouse Oscar Smith and Phoebus go down in defeat.

Lake Taylor 54 Defending Div. 5 State Champion Phoebus 0. It's been a long time since a Norfolk school advanced to the State Championship semi's. Congrats to the Titans.

Ocean Lakes defeats defending Div. 6 State Champion Oscar Smith 14-10. Virginia Beach is slowly becoming the new Hampton of high school football.

Now if we can keep some of this talent at home................

Down year for Phoebus. I wouldn't read too much into it.

They were undefeated going into this game. How was it a down year. Are you just making that up?

If you don't follow high school football in the 757, then I can understand. Those who do follow care.

They won a lot of squeakers in the PD this year. They have a freshman QB and their defense wasn't upto usual standards. Usaually they win all their games 50-something to 0. I'm surprised tonights game was so lopsided, but not surprised Lake Taylor won.

They won a lot of squeakers?

3 close games against formidable opponents. The rest blow outs. I call that a typical Phoebus team.

The first Hampton game was also a squeaker. The score was tied at 21 deep into the 4th and Pheobus scored a couple at the end. Usually, between Phoebus and Hampton, one of the two are about as good as this year and the other is much better. They almost lost to Bethel and Heritage. That would never happen in a normal year. They were good, but they weren't dominent. Nobody in the PD was. It was a down year.

lol, Phoebus does not have down years. Thanks for participating, but I still think your just making things up. Your welcome to your opinion though.

Well, maybe Bill Dee's 2004 team that still went 7-3. I'll call that a down year. Not when you go 12-1 for the season.

What an awesome game in Ocean Lakes vs. Oscar Smith! An almost sellout crowd at the Sportsplex saw a really close game. So proud to be a alum of the new Eastern Region Champions. These teams could rival some of the lower FCS schools.
As a side note, it was great seeing some amazing defense! Hopefully we are recruiting these teams heavily!

Meh, it was kind of tongue-in-cheek.
