Ever watch Channel 19 news in the AM? They have a 4:30 AM traffic report. It is always the same -- "Well, traffic is rather light right now but we are expecting to increase in a couple of hours. This traffic report brought to you by...." and then you get 5 minutes of commercials. WXIX is a complete joke.

I quit watching local newscasts over 20 years ago, because everything they do is geared toward informing the Village Idiot.
Sometimes I would tune in to watch UC highlights, but no need when you can DVR or just go to GoBearcats or
BigEast.org.

I ususally check in early just to see the weather. I get up between 4:00 and 4:30 and am usually downtown between 5:30 and 6:00.

I have noticed recently that WXIX does have a lot of young, college-aged immature types working for them now. They have some of the worst field reporters I've ever seen. The station as a whole has gotten really bad.

Be sure to tune in to 19 early on Black Friday morning for breaking news as they post street reporters outside Wal-Mart stores so we can witness the doors opening. Good luck getting any meaningful preview of senior night @ Nippert Stadium; there's just too much other news and mall traffic to report that day.

Personally, I can't wait for the follow up piece. I hear it details Williams' decision to eat out at an extravagant "fast casual" restaurant instead of making a pb&j at home. Shame on you Greg Williams!

The other day WXIX had a "live breaking news report" in front of the Hostess Bakery @ around 4:45. The reporter stood in front of an empty building saying that the building is "virtually empty". Rule number 1 for reporters: Pay attention in English class.

Speaking of English, grammer, and such, if you want a real laugh, read their "scroller line" at the bottom of the screen. I swear it is written by a third-grader at best.
