WVU will need to get off to a fast start to keep the Georgia fans from taking over the game. WVU with an attitude will be a must.

I don't know too much about Georgia. Is there anywhere they have showed any particular weakness?

White better be prepared to pass more than he usually does, I'd say >15 attempts, and remain relatively efficient. Georgia's defense is solid, and you'll need balance.

Georgia's offensive balance is better than anyone's in the BE, except Louisville.

They lost to Auburn in the final minute, and to Florida without Shockley. The Sugar Bowl is in their own backyard, so it'll be a tough task, I believe. Would have had a better chance vs. LSU IMO.

Sounds like it might take some thinking outside the box.

I've seen UGA play 6 times. As stated they could easily be 12-0 right now, though they could also have lost the SC and Tech games, too.

Weaknesses
- Receivers have a rep for dropping passes. Shockley's rating as a QB should be higher save for the inexperience and underwhelming skills displayed here. They have performed well at times but not on a consistent basis and none of the corps is a gamebreaker or solid deep threat. If they're jammed and kept under control then UGA's offense must rely on its...

- Underperforming running backs. Again, this isn't to say the team is devoid of talent but that the players haven't matched pre-season billing. Part of that may have been the common defensive approaches against the Dawgs, which tried to neutralize the running game and force the new QB and young receivers to make plays. Thus what was supposed to be a deep O backfield (a la Auburn last year) turned into a group of men offering each other the chance to break from the group yet no takers. Against GT they pounded the bal straight ahead with only a little trouble, and their speed outside is average... for a powerhouse team, that is.

The catch is that their defense is good enough to counter a weak day by the offense. The only times they gave up more than 17 points were against Auburn (30) and Arkansas(20), the game where Shockley got injured early. Apart from that their opponents avg. 12 ppg! The D front line is strong enough to make plays with four, giving their backfield full coverage. And while Coach Richt is infamous for several coaching mistakes (clock management, play calling) Georgia is stout enough to be playing in enough big games that such blunders stand out. Richt is 52-12 in his 5th year, including 3 straight New Years Day bowl wins, and has this GT fan convinced he and that program should be counted among the elites currently going.

GT managed to keep UGA to 14 points but UGA won the battle of attrition via field position, special teams and, eventually, the display of more/better athletes. WVU had better keep the running game in check, hit the TE early to disrupt his routes and try to keep the ball for long stretches. Scoring early would help.

Thanks Gunner. I'm lost here in ACC land so if it isn't ACC, it doesn't get any play.
