I'll be honest, I won't be shocked if we lose this. Remember the last time this team was asked to play for pride? The tail end of 2010 was an embarassment. I'm really not a negative guy, but I am trying to be objective.

If there's one thing you can count on from a Butch Jones-coached team each and every week it's pride and effort. I have no doubt the Bearcats come out with the confidence to pound USF into the dirt.

I'm coming across as more of a Jones basher here than I really am, but what do you think happened in 2010? I think we all blamed the QB situation, but wouldn't we look back on 2012 the same way if we lose to USF/UCONN?

I want to agree with you. I'm just curious where the confidence in that is coming from.

In 2010 I wouldn't really put the blame on any one position. That year the Bearcats were hampered by a difficult OOC (playing on the road at Fresno State in the heat of early September and NC State on a Thursday Night isn't ideal), they also had trouble adjusting/buying into a new system, had tons of injuries with players being overplayed out of necessity and adjusting to a new S&C program, and overall Murphy's Law was rampant on this team.

2012 is a completely different team who are 100% bought into what Butch Jones is doing. They trust their coach and most importantly trust themselves because of the preparation they put in every game week. There is no lack of confidence on those sidelines.
