I think we forgot what it was like to have a hungry coach.

Anderson was hungry too, but he wasn't out there in the public like Haase is. Davis was hungry in his own way, that was not necessarily in UAB's best interest, but he also rested on his history a little as well at first.

Rod Rucker is going to be very good, Alihodzic has some moves down low. I'm glad ASW is a senior.

I believe some of Haase's anger is a carryover from the damn football game on Saturday.

Just kidding.

But if he has to bang too much against much bigger guys he will wear down late in the game as he did in the Creighton game. He will need some help with his minutes.

I know I am probably going to catch some crap for posting this but here it goes. A pissed off coach after a big win. That sounds like a fellow we all despise that wins National Championships in football...

That would be Auburn. What UAT has is like what Cal has at KU, a monopoly on the top recruits.

1st. It wasn't a big win. It was a 19 point win against a bad team.
2nd. - Your coach is not the only coach that gets pissed when teams show inconsistency and lack of focus.
3rd. I don't think anyone despises him. Just the hero worship that he gets.

Is that enough crap, or did you want some more?

Cal coaches at UK. Bill Self is the coach at KU. You need to learn this; our new coach is a KU alum.

The most amusing part of the game for me was Alihodzic getting a wide open three at the point. He just looked at the ball puzzled and was like, "what the hell," and launched it up. Everyone around me got a kick out of it.

Also, Haase was running 4 bench + 1 starter the last 8 minutes of the game.

How good, or how bad is what I'm really asking, is navy? Was this win anything to gauge out season outlook on?

Very encouraging that alihodzic and Rucker are looking so good in the early season. We have to have some sort of low post presence to be any good

We've played one really good team and two really bad teams, and the scores reflects. I think we will know more after this tournament, in which we will play good but not great competition.

Illinois State is undefeated, but has not played anyone good. We will be their first challenge

Our next game will either be Northwestern or TCU. Northwestern is undefeated as well, but hasn't played a strong team. Maybe our former coach can give us a scouting report since Texas Southern lost by 30 to them.

TCU, I don't think is very good. They lost to SMU and beat Prairie View A&M 54-49. Maybe A&M is a world killer. We'll find out Tuesday.

I think those two teams will tell us a lot. I have no clue how we will do. We could go 2-0 or 0-2, or split.

RE: Blazer Hoops Buzz Navy at UAB
It was effort that got Coach riled up. A couple of quotes:

"Effort does not have an ebb and flow to it. I thought there was a little bit of an ebb and flow to our intensity and that's something that has to change."

"I thought our size inside and our ability to rebound and score the basketball was a big part of the game, but overall I was a little bit discouraged by our execution and some of the things we did," Haase said.

"When we're up 20, it's easy to be like, 'OK, we've already won this game,'" UAB center Fahro Alihodzic said. "It's easy to let off the pedal. We as a team, instead of being up by 20, we need to be up 40. We didn't do that today and that's why coach is disappointed right now."

We should have won by 40 is my thinking.

Haase realized we were playing down to our opponent &

Homey don't play that.

I heard the interview. He was not happy. He was very nice, and you could understand him, unlike last year, but he made it clear he was unhappy with our consistency.

Yep,, and I think he is particularly upset with some of the turnovers that happened because of sloppy passing / or players not getting positioned correctly to recieve the pass from the wing to the top of the key I ( Id guess we had 5 or so turnovers on that type of pass ).

Navy's way-too-early RPI projection is 301. So yeah, they're going to be bad. For those of you who hate Sagarin, his PREDICTOR model had us winning by...19 yesterday. 03-lol
