Well if the Rutgers and Maryland actions happen, whats next for the BE and for Us ! Probably UConn and or Us and Maybe UC to ACC for 16 ? most national sports centers eating this up and maybe an anouncement on Monday. We need to Win Out the conference !

RE: Changes approaching ?
I have the feeling it is being arranged to dismantle the Big East and reshape it to just a mid-major conference like the other "group of five." We're obviously going somewhere. I hope it's the ACC unless FSU and Clemson bolt.

Notre Dame is 14, Louisville and UConn 15 and 16. 04-cheers

If Notre Dame is #14 I don't see the ACC expanding any further. If ND would rather stick with the original agreement, then I'd rather see Louisville be #14.

Going to be a LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG week. Gotta see how this thing unfolds.

RE: Changes approaching ?
I'm disgusted. Louisville finally gets in a decent conference with all of its major rivals and now it's all falling apart. Say we get into the Big XII. ESPN might tear the damn thing apart in a few years and reshape the landscape again and then the cycle starts all over again. Texas is a wildcard. When Texas and ESPN get together, other schools suffer. Okay, let's say we get in the ACC. What is to stop the Big Ten, Big XII, and SEC from poaching that conference? It's bound to happen eventually if ESPN and Fox get together and decide to turn the cart over and move pieces around. So no matter where we end up, it won't be permanent. Conferences may no longer be long term contractual consortiums anymore. So we might not need to get excited even if we do land somewhere "better."

I agree with You. However We now have a better understanding of changes than We did a year ago and are much better prepared to move if We get that call. Should be interesting this coming week.

Have you ever wonder why we are adding a new turf to PJCS? Could this be why logo? 04-cheers

How often are you supposed to replace the turf? Maybe it's just due to be replaced. Wilkie if you know something please let us know. Please don't say we're going to the Big XII. I hate that conference. I don't care how much money we can make there. West Virginia is getting clobbered in that league and we would be too. I'd rather see us win games against teams we can beat than get paid a lot of money to be humiliated on the field. Screw that!

Well that could happen in the beginning however recruiting would also improve and should fill in the needs with adding Texas and Oklahoma recruits to go with Florida and Georgia and other recruits we now get.

Yeah we could ascend to the upper level of the conference probably in four or five years. As long as Jurich is in charge, we will compete. However once Jurich is gone, we might not have the leadership we have now and things could drop off severely.

Anyway I still hate the teams in the Big XII. It just sucks.

That is the Basketball fan in you...but Football with Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, K-State & WVU is very exciting.

Overall if the opportunity comes and as long as FSU/Clemson stay would rather be in the ACC. Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida State, Georgia Tech and the Carolina schools in Football and the Basketball would be second to none.

Also, it is a football league in which we would be one of the Power Schools with Florida State, Clemson, Miami and Virginia Tech.

And I remember most fans thought We would be taking a beating when We went to the Beast but We hit the ground running and outside of a few bad Kragthorpe years and a bad luck basketball season, We held Our own.
I would also prefer the ACC first as I visit those areas at least once a year and could drive to many games for a long Weekend. Most have Great Fans to mingle with while tailgating.

I'm numb to this now. I loved the Big East. The ACC will be very similar to the Big East, but it won't quite be the same. Life will go on I suppose.

I went to high school in Newport News, VA. I was asked to walk on at Virginia Tech. I joined the Navy instead because of Viet Nam. Then we moved back to KY where my family lived. My dad was a Navy lifer. I grew up being an ACC fan. To have my Cards in the ACC is almost Heaven to me!

I be came a Card fan when I became a Louisville grad. B4 that I was a VPI and Tarheel fan, 04-cheers

RE: Changes approaching ?
there are pitfalls to going to either the acc or big 12. go to the acc and its in the control of tobacco road. for football there is the great possibility of fsu and clemson jumping to the big 12.

go to the big 12 and its in the control of texas and oklahoma. for football there is the great possibility of texas, texas tech, oklahoma, and oklahoma state jumping to the pacific conference.

football drives the dollars. basketball is fine wherever. i'd rather go to the football conference to get more money so i hope we go west. even better would be if uc, fsu, and clemson go west with us.

and i'm a much bigger basketball fan than football.

I agree with this, yes it would be better then where we are now I just don't trust Texas. The only thing holding the BIG12 together is Texas & Oklahoma. They both could very easy end up in the PAC,then the BIG12 would be in sad shape & we would be stuck there. On A island with West Virgina, I just can't get myself excited about the Big12 the only team basketball wise I want Louisville to play is Kansas.

The ACC is A much better fit for Louisville, great basketball league. With some pretty good football teams. Louisville would sellout the FB stadium for teams like Fla ST, G tech, V tech, Miami & Clemson. We would be able to keep our coach. With in A few years Louisville would have to expand the FB Stadium, because that place will be packed for teams like that. I hope we end up in the ACC for many reasons.
