Halfway through the 2nd quarter, Texas 35 - CU 3.
I wonder what the biggest blowout and most points ever scored in a conference title game records are? Since title games have only been around for 15 years or so and it was only the SEC for a while, I bet the Horns may break a lot of unofficial NCAA marks today for title games.

I really think this is Texas's year. USC's D won't stop them and I think the Texas D will get just enough stops on Leinert and Bush to win the game.

41-3 with the extra point coming up. I'm done with this now.

Which bowl wants the Buffs? They will have lost 3 straight and counting the first half today, they've been outscored 102-22 in their last 2.5 games.

Championship games are a real waste of time and money.
There is no need for the Big East to go to 12 football schools.

Agreed. Unless #'s 11 & 12 are Penn State and Notre Dame, we should go to 10, play a round robbin FB schedule and an 18 game BB schedule.

EAC
West Virginia
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
UConn
Rutgers
Louisville
Cincinnati
South Florida
Central Florida
East Carolina over Memphis. Make more geographic sense and they have a strong relationship with current Big East Football members plus a huge fanbase. Memphis just doesn't make geographic sense even though it would be splitting hairs between Memphis and ECU.
A very solid conference with solid bowl tie ins if they keep ND in the fold as far as bowl tie ins. Keep the BCS Bid separate and allow them what they have now until we can become attractive to bowls without their help.
With that arrangment they should be able to keep the Gator, Care Car and Toronto Bowl and our arrangement with the Big 10 and Motor City Bowl. Maybe can add a Champ Sports since we would have the hometown team.
Big East
Villanova
Georgetown
Providence
Seton Hall
Saint John's
Notre Dame
DePaul
Marquette
Xavier
Dayton
Very good basketball conference and would be in the Top 4-6 in the nation over leagues like the $EC and Pac 10. It would be a 4-6 Bid League.

I like the idea of 10 schools too...even if we get ND as a non-football member, I would still like to see 10 football schools.

Bull fans, what is your take if the Big East looks to bring in UCF in the near future.

Personally, I think if UCF can prove themselves (and they did a good job this year), then UCF deserves an invite.
However, 75% of Bulls fans would get sick of the idea of UCF in the Big East

For anyone not watching, due to CU playing like a Pop Warner team who can't hold on to the ball, Texas scored 28 more in the first 8 minutes of the 3rd quarter!
It was 70-3 halfway through the 3rd quarter! Thankfully the 3rd quarter is now over but man is this ugly! I suspect what I mentioned earlier is true, this has to be the most points scored and biggest margin of victory ever in a conference title game.

70-3 reminds me of the beatdowns we used to get in conference play not that long ago. Now we're at least a competitive, respectable squad worthy of our opponent's respect.

I still think USC will handle Texas - they have that championship experience.

Exactly what I was thinking of in particular. How far we have come since then. The rising of the sleeping giant at last is at hand.

Handle? No sir. The only way I can be wrong is if USC can man up on Texas receivers and win that with their corners. Doubtful.
Otherwise, this game's going to have some scoring on both sides of the ball. The offenses are better than their counterparts for both teams. What young does that UCLA can not, however, is force that man coverage. You have to either zone blitz heavily or leave a spy in, or he'll just burn you on keepers/scrambles. Once everyone has cheated up, he can throw it well.
Now, if the coverage is ok 1 on 1, or USC's offense dominates texas worse than average, USC might still roll. But I expect this to be a lot closer than OU's showing last year...
