4000 yard passer
Another 200 yards and we have our first 4000 yard passer. This is huge for TH, I can see it now 22 years from now there is going to be a statue of him outside our stadium. I am going to be telling my kids and their kids about the legendary QB that once played here.

Throwing for those last 200 yards against JMU in Bridgeforth would be legendary. Their secondary has been fairly stout this season, but... Aim High.

Would the playoff stats count toward that total?

WisM led the league in pass defense. Taylor broke 200 on them. Safe to assume he'll do it on the pukes.

RE: 4000 yard passer
JMU has not played a great passing offense all year (outside of WVU, and I'm not starting the ridiculous WVU-ODU comparisons). Richmond is the only top 50 passing offense they've faced, and they allowed Strauss to throw for 271 yards and 4 TDs in his first collegiate start.

It will still be tough playing there with the elements (hopefully it's calm and sunny), but JMU's passing defense is anything but "stout".

With that being said, our secondary makes theirs look like the freaking Chicago Bears.

RE: 4000 yard passer
In his 18 starts as ODU's qb Taylor Heinicke has never failed to pass for at least 200 yds. In the game against UMass (his first college action) he passes for 119 yds on 8-11 attempts in one half.

In his 18 starts here is the breakdown:

9 200+ yds. games
6 300+ yds. games
2 400+ yds. games
1 700+ yds. game

TH is leading the Walter Payton Award candidates stastically by a good margin.

Best of all, he KNOWS how to lead a team to victory. I will never doubt that after being in the stands during the UNH game.

I would bet there will be a 100% chance that it won't be sunny, since it will be a 7:00 p.m. start.

"Stout" may have been giving the Dukes a little too much credit, I admit. I'm confident that Taylor can and will pass for 200+ at Bridgeforth.

Agreed. 2 hours after sundown, it will be more like 35 degrees. But without wind, our air game should still be effective.

Latest forecast: Clear and calm (winds 2 to 4) temperature falling from lower 40s to mid 30s during game time. Great late fall, night football weather! Barring injury, the chances of Heinicke passing for fewer than 200 yards are nil. I would not be surprised to see him throw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns. Go Monarchs!
