RE: Tell me about your diet plans!
(11-12-2012 03:07 PM)Nacho Wrote:  Since beginning to apply for police academies and other jobs I've decided to get myself into back shape. Everyone knows that you gain your freshman 15 when you enter into college. For me on the other hand I gained a freshman 40 or so. Coming into college I weighed around 175. After eating a **** ton of junk food, drinking a **** ton of alcohol, and generally not working out, I weighed in at 212 pounds on October 23rd. It was that day I started a very low carb, medium protein, high fat diet similar to the Atkins diet. So far I've been able to drop 15 pounds through diet change alone. My goal is 170 pounds so I have about 27 pounds to get there. I'll be starting some intense cardio once I reach about 190 to speed up the process.

Believe it or not I have not had an alcoholic beverage since October 23rd!

So any of you broncostampeders on any diet plan? Tell me about it!

Great work.

I've heard that the Insanity workout program is rough but produces good results.

One question: Were you completely nude in that first picture? I mean, I know you have that "no pants" thing goin' on lately.

Seriously though, good work, Nacho!

I used to eat "light' - as soon as it got light out, I started eating.

Now I'm on the Sea Food Diet - as soon as I see food, I eat it!

Looks like that diet is working for you. I am in week three if Insanity, cut out the beer drinking and substituted water. I'm already down about 7lbs. That workout is intense. Beer is the worst thing to drink if your like me and one usually leads to 12. Keep up the good work!

Nice! When I started I told myself I'd start Insanity when I hit 20 pounds lost so I wouldn't get discouraged with building muscle vs. losing fat. So I'll be starting Insanity soon. I did Month 1 last spring. I love it! Congrats to you on losing 7. Keep it up.

Just finishing up the first month of insanity... and its more about burning calories, and leaning out than building muscle so much. P90X was built more for building muscle... Insanity is about cardio and burning calories... Its also setup so you can go as hard as you want. Definitely get good shoes if you try Insanity... my feet are getting destroyed... lots of jumping and running in place...

Let me know if you start insanity... i will motivate you through the first few weeks... its killer... and the warmup alone will discourage most people... "WHAT!? that was the warmup!? Now we do the workout!!!?" Yeah... at first its a killer... but you really do improve... For me its been a slow process! Lots of old beers to work through...

RE: Tell me about your diet plans!
I've been doing pilates for the past year (I know, super-gay) and I feel better than ever. We go to a class, so it's expensive, but well-worth it, especially since the instructors are hot as hell.

I wish I had done this in high school for sports. I feel more "rounded" than just doing bench presses, bicep curls and leg extensions.

Starting Insanity today also. I made it through the first month about a year ago. It is intense. Just have to keep pushing play as you will hurt for the next few days. Anyone interested in an Insanity motivation thread, or maybe we cam just use this one.

I still need to get the DVD's. If anyone is all done with them, I'd be happy to take them off your hands...even for a price.

Do you need anything besides your body? Weights, balls, pull up bars, etc.?

RE: Tell me about your diet plans!
No equipment required. Resistance is from various forms of pushups, dips, etc. Insanity is more focused on cardio and toning. I've read that you can burn up to about 1,000 calories is some of the hour long workouts but have never tested that with a hr monitor. It is a ***** though and there are times that I wake up in the morning dreading coming home from work and working out. I lost about 13# in the first month last time but did not do month 2.

RE: The Official Bronco Stampede Gets In Shape Thread
Pure Cardio Insanity today... first time in A LONG TIME that I almost puked... That workout can burn some calories... I will say this. DIET is the most important part of working out... put crap fuel in and you feel like crap when you're working out... So easy and so true... yet sometimes so difficult to accomplish.
