What gives one motivation is seeing the results and people remarking about your dramatic weight loss. I'm down 45 pounds now, about 5 from my goal. The best thing is that I've noticed that my eating patterns are now a habit, replacing all the bad habits I used to have.

For me, at least, losing weight when I was in my 20s was easy. As you get older and your metabolism naturally slows, it gets tougher but can still be done with the right plan. Can't wait until my next physical to get the blood workup results. My doc will be shocked.

That's incredible MHB.

Using myfitnesspal, I lost weight focusing on calories. Usually my blood sugar has closely corresponded with my weight, so I was very excited going into my last checkup. My a1c went up, and I was cursing out loud in the parking lot like a madman. Just have to keep rowing the boat I suppose.

Yeah, the comments from others are definitely motivation enough in many ways!

As for the stats, you're right - I'm quite curious to compare next year's blood work to that of a couple years ago.

On August 2nd of this year I weighed 225 pounds. Since quitting my ****** job, my ban from this site, and other life changes - I've lost over 30 pounds. I'm back on the lifestyle but still a lot of work to do. Good to see everyone else is doing well!

Nice work, man!

On a related note, they posted the official Campus Classic results today. That whole 5K thing worked out better than expected - I finished in 22:05 (7:05 per mile) for 97th out of 1,373 overall, 90th out of 645 guys, and 20th out of 81 in my age group. Not too bad for my first race of any kind ever, if I do say so myself.
