Will you be OK, or don't you know yet?

23 feet.
Well, I should be ok through Christmas. THe 120 are from a different part of the company and the jobs are located in Ohio. After Christmas I should be fine but may have a few hours cut depending on business. I do have to say(knock on wood) they are pretty decent to their permanent employees and they try their best to get us our hours despite it being slow.

(he got like 17 weeks of pay after his release). They didn't tell him if they were long-planned cuts or due to sequestration issues though, so I can't make any assumptions on that yet.

To be fair.. if you're a fiscal conservative, you're all for defense cuts. Hard to complain about this. Less government spending, it's what conservatives want. When you're ending two wars, one would expect cuts in defense spending.

Correct .... I'd like to cut the government in half. Every department should lose 50% of its funding. Some departments (energy, education, etc.) should just be dismantled entirely.

Energy isn't what you want to kill entirely. Edu and HHS are much better places.

I think everyone has heard about FedEx planning to reduce the support staff in the USA by 2,500 workers. They will offer an early buyout plan this coming spring and if enough don't take it there very well could be another layoff like there was in April 2009.

Seriously, if this fiscal cliff scenario happens, we will see about 2,000,000 job losses in 2013. OUCH! But I can't see the Congress/Senate allowing that to happen; they' continue to push the deadline further down the road.

I had read a lot of people we're transitioning to temp workers over full time employees. Not just because of health care, but because the 20 somethings preferred the flexibility, and with people being more proficient with basic computer programs like excel / powerpoint / etc.. the training costs had gone down to make it work for both sides.

Yeah, damn old people can't do ****.

I suppose you can take it that way. Do you disagree with what I said? Are you suggesting young people coming out of school now aren't more proficient with computers?
