RE: ODU Master Plan
I say we need taller buildings, like 20 plus storys, that gives us a smaller foot print with a lot of space

Also light rail and more parking garages, but more tailgate spots.

I highly doubt you are going to see anything twice as tall as BAL.

Parking is the biggest issue and everything has to be solved around that.

RE: ODU Master Plan
Is there a height restriction on how tall a parking garage can be? With the success of The Tide and VA beach approving of light rail i expect Norfolk to start putting together an extension package that makes stops at ODU on its way to the naval station sooner rather then later.

I hope ODU's board realizes a man just won a contest who doesn't like Engineers, Doctors, Dentists, and Biologists... They make too much money, and college is "over-priced".

They can add light-rail (tax-payer funded, suckers)and maybe Foreman expansion (quick $ return), but if ODU is smart they'll hunker down and weather the rest of this eminent storm.

You're obviously frustrated that the crook didn't win, but we are all entitled to our own opinions. FWIW, it's not that school is too expensive, it's that those who provide the funds are making too much off of these kids.

And light rail is a HUGE hit and needs to be expanded throughout Hampton Roads. We should have been doing that in the first place instead of building a bridge to the ghetto (Jordan Bridge).

But again, this is off topic. We've both shared our two cents, now let's get back on topic.

I'm curious what plan ODU comes up with. They have a golden ticket right now, so I hope they don't screw it up.

RE: ODU Master Plan
Yes, light rail at ODU would really be a very nice addition to the school. It's something I think the school could sell to prospect students. And may even encourage more students to go car-less.

Could you make that a bit larger? I can't read the text.

Am I the only one who cannot read this because it is too small?

No. I can't see it either.

I think it has been previously noted that the area by the water consists of sand and fill and wouldn't hold anything more than a golf range.

There's also a big wastewater treatment plant back there that probably isn't movable...

RE: ODU Master Plan
I would like to keep it where it is. Knock down the clam shells and build a two-level structure with a first-level concourse for restrooms and vendors. That removes the need for the "parking lot" space outside of Foreman Field. Personally, I don't care for the clamshell look. I'd prefer something more state of the art that will actually attract prospective student athletes.

Raise the seating from 20k to 35k. Allow room for expansion to 45k if needed, but preferably no higher than that.
