Playoff Reservations
Sorry for another thread. But, why are playoff reservations $160? Just in case they host every round? Is there a credit if they don't get home games?

RE: Playoff Reservations
Got an email for football playoff ticket reservations. The cost is $160.

Old Dominion University will begin accepting orders online Tuesday from football season ticket holders for the FCS playoffs as the Monarchs anticipate receiving an at-large bid. ODU could host as many as four rounds and fans will be initially charged for a first round game, plus a $10 handling fee when placing orders. All tickets for any playoff round ODU hosts are $20. If ODU advances in the playoffs and hosts additional rounds, fans credit cards will be charged per round. Season ticket holders are encouraged to order by Nov. 16 to receive priority on receiving their same regular season seats and utilize the print at home option to receive your tickets. Any available tickets after the Nov. 16 deadline will be made available to the Football Waiting List members. To order tickets, for more information on the playoffs and potential home dates, go to http://www.coxtix.com and click Postseason Reservations. Fans may also bring their order forms to the box office at Foreman Field on Saturday from 8 a.m. - noon, and to the Constant Center box office throughout the weekend at the Liberty Tax Classic.

RE: Playoff Reservations
If you buy playoff tickets for your season ticket seats you're in for all home playoff games. You can't buy individual game tickets for your seats. Initially you'll only be charged $30, $20 for the ticket and $10 "handling" fee. As we progress you'll be charged for subequent tickets as needed.

If I remember correctly from last season they are meerly seeking a commitment from season ticket holders that they intend to purchase their seats for all possible home playoff games. Last season I was charged for the NSU tickets, but since thst was our only home game I was never charged for second round of tickets, so no refund was necessary.

Correct, and if we don't make it for 4 home dates we get refunded. I thought they did the same last season?

You are correct, as that is the same procedure as last year.

Last year, I was only initially charged the $10.00 per ticket admin fee to start with. My card was later debited for the cost of the Norfolk State game. I was never charged for any potential later games, so I wasn't refunded at all.

Yes me too. I was only charged for the NSU game. However it showed I would be charged for any future home games if we got them.

I would bet your Credit card shows only the innitial charge.

My credit card was debited $160. Did anyone else reserve playoff tickets?

I don't think they can charge you for something that has no confirmation yet. That's not right. I know lat year I had to buy playoff tickets and I did not have the money on my account to pay for reservations.

RE: Playoff Reservations
Didn't they do the same thing with the CIT or something years ago?

Charge you for the whole home game tournament and if you don't get a 2nd home game/eliminated then they take the charge off.

I see it as a pain for sure, but nothing more than what they do at hotels.
You show them a credit card, they put a charge on it for a couple days stay and expenses... if you end up leaving earlier than expected the card gets reimbursed.

RE: Playoff Reservations
Email from today:

Fans will be charged for first round games, plus the one-time processing fee upon receipt of orders. If ODU advances through the playoffs and continues to host additional rounds, fans will be charged per round. Should ODU be sent on the road for the playoffs, a limited number of tickets will be available in an ODU fan block, and filled utilizing the ODAF priority point system.

I'm going to call and find out. Whoever is sending these recent emails is doing a lackluster job, imo.

It's a standard procedure for NCAA tournament basketball games on a per weekend basis.

RE: Playoff Reservations
Ok, they made a mistake and will be crediting my account.

You reserve for 4 rounds. 1 time $10 charge plus the ticket price for 1 round. If they get an additional home game, it's automatically taken out. That's how I remember it last year.
