BTW ... compare that to today's static ~5sec bumper for HBO. How short have our attention spans gotten? How much do we no longer appreciate production value?

The one in the early 80's took a set crew probably a month to build the scale stage. They commissioned a fantastic 1 minute score featuring a guy beating the **** out of a synthesizer. Probably took a few months to render the animation with computer speeds back then too.

I still love those intros; I'd put those up against just about anything today.
