2014 Regionals Announced
USCHO link to the full page
Basically, here's the breakdown:
West - St. Paul (Xcell Energy Center)
Midwest - Cincinnati (U.S. Bank Arena)
Northeast - Worcester (DCU Center)
East - Bridgeport (Webster Bank Arena)
Long trips again to go see postseason play

Cincinnati wouldn't be terrible. A little over five hours from Kalamazoo if you hit traffic right.

...and less than an hour from me!
So you all certainly know what I'm rooting for.

Nothing personal, and I understand that these things are basically bid out, but it's really ****ing weird that Pennsylvania, Missouri, Indiana and Ohio get as many or more regionals as Michigan with 7 frigging D1 teams and when hockey is mentioned in this country it starts with the three M's of Minnesota, Michigan and Massachusetts. You notice the other two routinely get regionals. Maybe when the Joe gets replaced we'll get more.

Do they use the ice at The Palace for anything these days? I've always wondered why they didn't do something hockey wise after the Vipers shut down.

A completely valid point. Doesn't make much sense to me, either.

RE: 2014 Regionals Announced
Cinci is pretty much the midpoint between where I am and Kalamazoo. Since it's the closest site to me, I'm going to have to selfishly root for that. Of course, we have to get through this year first...
