Judging by the first 35 minutes of the game tonight UC should not even be picked 9th in the Big East...

And people wonder why UC fans HATE ZIMPHER!

UC down 4 with 57.9 secs left, Murray State at the line.

Zimpher sucks.

UC lucks out big time, James White steals the ball from their PG and scores with 5.8 secs left. The game is now in OT.

UC lucks out, pulls it out in overtime. 79-75.

Bad offense.
Bad defense.
No intensity until the final 7 minutes of the game (last 2 of regulation, 5 of OT).

If UC doesn't pick it up this will be a long year.

'Bout time to be happy with the win, don't you think MLB?

We all know it will be a challenging year. Why add to it by dragging the Zimpher B itch into it?

Screw her. Let's improve and win despite her. What do you say? 04-cheers

We're not ranked, or favored to win the conference, actually picked to finish 9th, how are we overrated!? 03-confused

UC had many games like this under Huggins. Murray State is a pretty good team.

It's just the first game as well.

For the 1st game under a new coach you would have thought the players would come out fired up and ready to play. I could see this happening 2 weeks from now, but not the 1st game.

I hope you are right, Lemmi. I'd love to have a great season to be excited or each game, but this being the 1st game under the new coach just does not feel good to me. I figured I would see something that excited me for down the road, but nothing looked better than before, everything looked worse. I figured UC would lose some defense, but at least look like they had an idea on how to play offense. Instead it looked like crap on both ends of the floor...

My point is if UC plays like that for the rest of the year UC shouldn't be above 12th in the conference... I know it is early, but that was a pathetic display of offense, defense, and heart.

DePaul lost on their home court to Bradley, Marquette is getting thumped by Winthrop, I am starting to like our chances at reaching MSG for the BE Tourney.

With Depaul, Marquette and Seton Hall looking horrible all South Florida has to do is out play those schools and one other school and they're going to the Gardens. Should be interesting. I know it's early, but getting pounded by 15 on your homecourt by Bradley!?

Add Providence to that horrible list. Just as long us bottom feeders don't bring the BE's RPI down. Losing to mid-majors will hurt.

True, but the Big East's perception of being a power conference alone will counteract any low RPIs. That's what happens with the ACC and I bet the Big East, at least in basketball, gets the ACC-type treatment.

All of these kids are Huggs' recruits, right?

They'll be fine.
