6 MAC teams bowl eligible before Nov 1st
MAC will have a great bowl season this year. Already booking bowl trips
Ohio, Toledo, NIU, Kent St, Ball State and Bowling Green. Miami looks like they got bowl reservations in their calander if they win the games they are expected to down the stretch.

Could it be? 7 MAC teams bowling? That would be amazing. 6 looks to be all but a lock. That would be the most ever.

Even WMU has a chance to be eligible, with a remaining schedule of CMU, Buffalo and EMU...

Ohio fans are obsessed with the concept "win the games they are expected to".
You have to play the games.
I didn't expect Ohio U to win any games. But heck! They have already won 7!

RE: 6 MAC teams bowl eligible before Nov 1st
P.S. ..and in mostly NMR news, former MAC foes UCF and Marshall got together tonight. UCF crushed the Herd, 54-17, and now Marshall is 3-5 even while playing in arguably the nation's weakest FBS conference this year....C-USA. I wonder if some of their fans might just yearn for the good ol' MAC days when they had geographic rivals and were a perienniel top 25 contender and relevant program............on second thought, nah....their fans for the most part really hated the MAC and I'm guessing they are OK with their situation in C-USA. Well, they do play in front of bigger crowds now, but I still bet many of them secretly miss the glory days of their short second renaissance in the MAC.

6 MAC teams bowl eligible before Nov 1st
The MAC could have 9 bowl eligible teams, although 8 is more realistic. If Miami beats Buffalo and Ball State, WMU wins out, and CMU wins out except for their game against WMU, the MAC would have 9 teams with non-losing records, with 5-7 teams finishing with at least 7 wins.

CFB recap just said Big East Teams shouldnt schedule MAC teams in October, especially if they are undefeated lol. Good recap/props of the Kent game on ESPN.

Well, it's hard to make predictions - especially about the future. I figured Rutgers would go undefeated until they got beaten.

bottom line:
There will be a lot of MAC folks (e.g., coaches, ADs, players, fans, etc.) sitting on pins and needles as the bowl bids are announced.
It could turn into a food fight.
Assume 5 bids. Does BGSU get a bid or BSU?
and if I remember correctly, the two MACC teams are guaranteed bowl bids but which ones are not set in concrete.

I thought there were slots expected to be unfilled. I think the MAC will get a lions share of bids

Yeah they have to fill bowl slots with teams that are 6-6 first, and that bodes very very very well for the MAC. Really excited to see who plays!

Axeme: When I referred to Marshall playing in front of bigger crowds, I just meant overall as C-USA's avg attendance if far above the MAC's. Of course, when UCF leaves that'll take one of the top drawing schools. As for Marshall, I believe you are correct...they averaged more in home attendance when they had good teams in the MAC..they still draw consistently (25-28K), but from what I read on line they did not have that great a crowd for UCF last night (although I didnt' see the attendance figures).

(caveat: I didn't look up any attendance numbers and am just guessing that the years of mediocrity have taken their toll on the local fan base. Someone could well prove me wrong. Anyone have a link to in-conference home attendance numbers for Marshall for the last 10-15 years?)
Here is the data.
2008-2011 had 3 of their lowest attendance averages ever (in FBS).
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...li=1#gid=0
Though they did have that 30k average which was better than any year in the MAC.
I did not look at what teams they hosted since in CUSA compared to when they were in the MAC.
They would still be the #1 in attendance in the MAC so its not like they are doing poorly.
