Rutgers know Mid-American Conference Foes are No Pushovers

From The Star-Ledger's Tom Luicci:

Coach Flood is dong his best to avoid a letdown against 6-1 Kent st. Here are some interesting quotes:

"Mid-American Conference schools, he told them, are 3-1 against the Big East this season."

"The MAC’s success this season extends beyond beating up on the Big East. Though just 7-19 overall against BCS conference teams, MAC schools have picked off three Big Ten opponents (Penn State, Iowa and Indiana) and one from the Big 12 (Kansas)... That’s in addition to the notches earned with victories over Cincinnati , Connecticut and South Florida."

Cincinnati? Who beat Cincinnati? I thought they were undefeated.

RE: Rutgers know Mid-American Conference Foes are No Pushovers
I'm not overly optimistic of Kent State pulling out a win today at Rutgers.

Looking at the stats of the two teams Rutgers is definitely a level up...

Kent State
Passing (108th)
Rushing (27th)
Points For (33.7)
Points Against (24.7)

Rutgers
Passing (81st)
Rushing (87th)
Points For (26.4)
Points Against (11.3)

This sounds to me like its going to be Rutgers 24, Kent State 10. Kent is up against the #3 defense in the country today. Anything closer by Kent would be great for the MAC.

Will Kent State score even 14 points? I guess the answer is yes.

The third score was a personal shout out from Dri Archer to all the Rutgers fans that said their top rated defense was going to shut him down

Why didn't Kent have Keith in there on those downs?

It is something they do every game - it gives them a different offensive look- They usually go to Fischer for a possession then back to Keith. It kind of drives you crazy because in a couple of games Keith had a real good rhythm going.

RE: Rutgers know Mid-American Conference Foes are No Pushovers
I know they do it every game, but usually where a spark is needed. There was nothing to gain by switching at that moment. It could've blown up in our faces even worse as Fisher rolled out and under pressure switched hands to fling a pass out. A turnover there could've been a disaster. Keith was in an rhythm, grind the clock out and take a 21-3 lead to the locker room. Instead we went back and forth and back and forth and they scored to go 20-10. 21-3 and 21-10 with momentum is a huge difference. Got to finish what they started today and get it done. Find ways to get Archer the ball in open space, smash Durham up the gut and mix in sme high percentage throws. Keep it simple and work the clock.
