Coach Demarco
Bobby Wilder mentioned that on his Fox 43 ODU Coaches Show. After Demarco's season is complete with the BC Lions, Wilder expects TD to return to ODU to become an assistant coach.

Wouldn't that be great! Demarco is a very driven, very intelligent, and very grounded person as well as a great football player. I think this would be a splendid development were it to happen.

He was a major part of establishing the team's short past and I know that he would be an effective contributor to the team's future. I hope this happens, at least so we can chant Demarco one last time. The guy has earned it.

I could have sworn his CFL contract was longer than a year...

It would be great to have one of the cornerstones for the re-birth of ODU football on the staff but what position would he coach? Punters? I think we already have a great QB coach.

I'm willing to bet Whitcomb gets the OC job once Scott leaves for UVA. Scott has done a fantastic job, but keep in mind that it's Whitcomb who is the "passing game coordinator"...AKA, he runs our offense.

Under NO circumstances would I ever give anybody priority over RW. He's the best coach on BW's staff, and he's a HUGE part of our success.

I listened to the show and I didn't hear Wilder say that he's coming back to coach at ODU. He said he liked the area and would come back here when he is done playing. Demarco also wants to get into coaching. If Wilder implied that he was going to coach at ODU, I didn't hear it.

RE: Coach Demarco
I went back and listened to Wilder's comments about Demarco too. He indeed did not specifically say that he would be employed by ODU.

The question came from a fan who asked,

Quote:What's Thomas Demarco up to these days? I always suspected he'd get into coaching. - Milton

Coach Wilder says TD loves this area and wants to come back here to work. He continues to say once his season is over he'll be back.

I'm sure TD can find an off season job anywhere, whether it's back home in California or in Vancouver. So I suspect he's coming back to work at ODU. That fact the Coach Wilder is so confident that he'll be back tells me TD won't have to look hard for a job.

He could always be a grad assistant if there are no position jobs open.
