Since you asked, I'll tell you what I think. I think the president (after all the chest-thumping at the DNC) was greatly invested in it being anything but Al-Qaeda, and was hoping to beat the youtube video drum until after November 6.

I know the cons on this board are going to blast me for typing this but I didn't see Libya as a major issue. We had an embassy in a country that was still forming a government in a region that doesn't like us very much. We can't possibly defend all places at all times. I'm saddened that we lost 4 people and in my eyes each of their lives were equal. The ambassador doesn't carry extra weight. I am more concerned about protecting our interests here, like the foiled NYC bomb plot this week. Al-Quida is out there, they are still going to kill people and blow people up, we just need to contain it.

He was busy doing some community organizing to worry about foreign affairs. The guy couldn't run a hot dog stand. What do we really expect?

You believed it was about a YouTube video earlier. Reposition your tin foil hat. You are not credible.

COTUS will have to face the music one mo' time in the debate Monday. Romney will revisit this issue, especially with the "not optimal" quote and the State Dept cables from the Benghazzi embassy. Why was security pulled just prior to 9-11? Why wasn't the ambassadors requests for extra security not heeded? Is it true the attack was actually viewed in the Situation Room as it happened due to drones with cameras?

Since Obama now claims to have known it was a planned attack the "next day":
1) Why was an apology issued publically for the video?
2) Why on earth would representatives of Obama's Administration keep the "anti-Muslim" video story alive for two weeks after the attack?? THAT SIMPLY DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER!!

Was it actually "not optimal" to admit the truth to the American people at that time? Maybe a decision made in the War Room after those four Americans were brutally murdered to cover up the failed security issue behind the facade of some obscure video?

It took weeks to get that whole story as well, and new info about that raid just came out this week. If this had happened in Atlanta, then I would agree with you.
