Watched the game. Didn't really bat an eye when anything bad happened because I've come to expect it. That's probably a bad thing.

Jeez I have higher expectations for my high school team than just hoping for the best. This is division 1 football. 106 teams doing their damndest to win. Why should we have lesser expectations? I don't and I would wager most don't either.

Who said have lessor expectations? I wanted to know why you think you deserve better. YOU said you contribute thousands of dollars and I get it if you feel that way. I'm trying to figure out why you doubled back and said that ticket holders should "deserve" better. This is athletics we're talking about, right? Two teams competing? Some times it works out, others, mostly others it doesn't.

Donors with bigger pockets than me sprung for alternate unis. I think they could cough up Cubits last year if asked. Just sayin....

Realistically, Kathy either has to extend Cubit's contract or buy him out after this season.

He may have to win out to get the extension, I would think.

It would be wise not to let a HC get to his final year. If they didn't extend or dismiss him in 3 months, they would basically be making a statement that he has to win big next year. And even then, relations with BC would be heavily strained as I am sure the topic will be brought up at the end of the season.

Admin can't be on the fence about a HC.

I agree, extend him or let him go. I don't want him working here on his last year of the contract. Can't recruit at all that way.

Attendance at last two home games (especially next Saturday) may be a factor in the decision.

It'll be bad. But I'll be at the NIU game Saturday, then the series game on Sunday. Heh.

Its the obama factor; everybody is entitled to a nine win season. Why should just the teams that recruited, planned, practiced, coached, and played harder and better get all the glory, thrill, joy, and financial reward of a great season. Its just not fair. They should come up with obamaseason; so the lousy teams with poor programs still get credited with wins by deducting wins from the teams that actually earned them, thus equalizing seasons in sports. That would be the "right thing to do".

Nailed it Brovol, that entitled attitude, like the mega venture capitalists who raid companies to take their pensions, take perfectly profitable companies who are doing fine, pay above market for that company and then send the operations overseas, taking tax breaks for expatriated dollars, capitalizing the transition costs and pocketing a hefty amount of money for themselves.

No matter what side of the economic spectrum you look at, you're going to find people playing the "I deserve" card on taxes (personal and/or corporate). That's not what this is about.

WMU "deserves" a better coach like any other university, due to what they're paying and expecting. It's a hiring issue. This isn't about congressional (ie NCAA) rules or anything, so this doesn't match any political analogy -- at all. :)

Back to the real topic -- yes, attendance will play a role in whether Cubit's kept -- it will be the gray-area decider, IMO -- and should. It only begs a "change" feeling to the fans to bring more in. Of course, we shouldn't rush to grab just about "anybody" for the sake of a change.

And of course, the remaining 3rd of the season is a big deal. If we run the table and go 7-5, all this is a non-issue. :) Of course, it's not silly to not expect that, given where our team's execution is headed. This is the forums -- not the team locker room...
