The word "liar" connotes not only a false statement, but an INTENT to mislead. So Obama saying that what Romney said "just isn't true" is not accusing him of being a liar, because it doesn't speak to his intent. If I say something wrong but believe it, I'm not a liar.

His campaign has been calling Romney a liar for two weeks, he himself has more than implied Romney was misleading..

Don't try to play lawyer here max... This is not a courtroom, semantics are more annoying than productive.

edit: how in the hell can the same mind that says "well he never said liar" decided that pretty much most opposition to Obama in the south is racism without those people saying racist things..

I don't know what occasion you're thinking of, but I've never seen him call Romney a liar himself and he sure didn't do it on the debate stage. If you want to drag surrogates into the mix, John Sununu has called Obama everything under the sun from "Not American" to "Not that bright."

It's more than semantics. People in politics avoid the "liar" word for a reason-- because it ends the debate and backfires. Semantically and emotionally, there's a huge difference between calling someone a liar and saying what you said is "just not true."

I know Obama didn't say liar on the debate stage, but I don't know that people in the south "aren't saying racist things."

The bottom line is Josh Romney's faux outrage is pathetic. If I was sitting in the crowd and my dad's debate opponent called him a liar, yes, I would be pissed. If he says what my dad said "just isn't true," that wouldn't provoke the same emotional response, no.

First of all, let me say that I don't believe the Mormon religion should be considered a religious cult. I'm not sure if many religions period should be called a cult (although perhaps a few do fall into that category). I just thought the timing on this was rather odd.

Secondly, Billy Graham in this picture looks like a ghost. Holy cow - God Bless him but he can't be doing very well, health wise.

I could care less if its a "cult" or not but any move which allows it to try and claim to be Christian is foolish.
Strange, you claiming to be Christian is foolish too.
