RE: Some interesting tweets from IMG
Louisville has traveled terrible the last 2 times to Cincy....could be because of your poor record and UC winnning the last 4 games...
There were no more than 1,500 to 2,000 UL fans last year at PBS,,,may be the UL fans bought tickets and chose not to go to the game...but there were well under 2,000 fans last year at PBS

Cardinal Jim said this,

Good thing Louisville doesn't depend on traveling fans to create football atmosphere. There is a reason why when UofL and WVU travel to Cincinnati the games are moved to PBS. Louisville fans travel, Cincinnati fans don't.

FWIW PBS holds 65 K and the Ville Cincy game attendance was 41 K last year.
UC doesn't have a lot of fans but we travel very very well.

Amen. Dumb. Especially with more tweets coming out about Aresco's speech.

RE: Some interesting tweets from IMG
This discussion came up on the Louisville Scout board earlier this year. Claims by Louisville fans that they brought 5K (on that board some even said they brought 10-15K) fans are ridiculous. I attached on the Scout board a Youtube clip showing the crowd. When you listen to the audio you can't hear a single peep from UofL fans. Somehow my post which confirmed their claims were false was deleted by one of the mods there. For the sake of the discussion here, here is the Youtube clip. Listen to the crowd noise as they cheer for their Bearcats. You can't tell me there were 5,000+ UofL fans sitting on their fannies and keeping their mouths shut.

Appreciate yours and other UC fans comments about the truth...don't know why 1 or two UL fans are so uptight about it...big deal...UL didn't bring 5,000 fans to UC (not even close). Who cares?

Here's a thought that might interest some of us newbies on this board and something that was kind of important, who the heck WON THAT GAME?????????

As aren't wins and losses a heck of a lot more important than worrying about why you only brought 1,000 or so fans to a road game?

Hey mods, can we split out this UL-UC attendance argument, so the rest of us don't keep checking this thread looking for new Aresco tidbits? Thanks.

Agreed.

Also, we drew 52,000 against Louisville on a Tuesday night, so...

UofL fans are uptight about it because they don't want to soil their reputation as a great traveling fan base. Fact is they have not been the past several years including last year when they had to travel all of 100 miles to Paul Brown Stadium.

UC won the game 25-16. Their fourth victory over UofL in as many years. UC leads the all-time series 30-20-1.

And yet neither of those games sold out and had terrible TV ratings. I don't see what your point is. Maybe nobody wants to spend money to see their team play Cincinnati?

Cardinalfan123,

Actually UC-UF had the third largest television audience of all the bowls that year behind the NCG and the Rose Bowl. Try again.

Believe you helped expose LouisvilleRed as just another troll...as just look at the TV ratings for bowl games that you and you will notice UC at #3.

Oh...don't bother looking for UL's Bowl TV ratings for that year...as their program only won 3 Div I-A games that year...so they were home for ALL the holidays.

You think that's because Cincinnati is a "major draw" or people were tuning in to see Tebow's last game in college? I ask this because the Cincinati-Virginia Tech rating was the lowest for a BCS bowl. Ever.

The WVU-Clemson is the lowest rated BCS Bowl in history. The viewership for the Orange Bowl has been in decline for a number of years. There are a number of factors at hand to explain this, many which go beyond UC. Perhaps the suckitude of some of the ACC schools may explain it. Nonetheless, if you look at the total viewership the 2009 Orange Bowl was not that far removed from previous Orange Bowls.

Backtrackiing... got caught on the Sugar Bowl.... The only BCS bowl appearance by Louisvillle in 2007 drew a 6.98 rating? A little bit beeter than UC's appearance at 5.4... and much worse tha UC's appearance in the Sugar Bowl at 8.5....
