Light house is a unique idea and I kinda like it... but that would be very difficult to pull off w/out being cheesy. Especially since there really isn't a parallel already historically with ODU and lighthouses I can think of? Other than the obvious with our area.

First of all, welcome to C-USA. I'm looking forward to regular games between UAB and ODU again! It will also be nice to have my alma mater play games within day trip range on a regular basis!

I have season tix for USNA football. They fire a cannon after every Navy score, for Navy kick-offs and at the end of quarters. The cannon happens to be located right in front of the general admission area, where's there's lots of kids. I never see a problem with crying kids, including the infants.

If the cage idea doesn't work for Big Blue, what if we had some of the students/monarch maniacs bring him in on a palanquin. The carriers could be wearing dirtied, tattered clothes bearing the colors of the opposing team. Maybe having some sort of Royal music and then when he gets off pick up the tempo with some hard rock? I dunno, just throwing out ideas.

EDIT: I also support the Bell Idea. It sounds absolutely wonderful. Do you know how big it is? How much it would cost? We could start a "Bring the Bell to Norfolk" campaign if we wanted to.

I will bring up again my great but unrealistic idea to moor the Kennedy off the sailing center and use for tailgating. Have the engineering department plan a pontoon bridge to it. NO SCHOOL could ever top that. My husband said the maintenance would be untenable. Well, maybe just cut off the landing deck and float it!

Surprised a rival school hasn't trolled a suggestion of a butterfly release at kickoff!
