In other news, N Dakota St demolished Youngstown. They are going to be tough to get by. Heinicke is going to have to have another career game.

RE: 10/6 CAA Game Thread
Towson was bitten by the turnover bug for the third time this year. Credit an exceptional JMU defense for at least part of that of that.
I was surprised at the Towson game plan. I thought we would see substantially more passing, especially ball control underneath passing. Towson dominated all stats except turnovers.
The Maine domination of UD completely surprised me. I knew that UD was in trouble early when the cupcakes were putting up 400 yards on them, but not to this extent.
ND State is absolutely scary.

Well, if we win out, hopefully we won't see them until Frisco.

Yea I didn't think Richmond would beat Villanova, Nova put up 400yds of offense on Maine who held UDel to 3 points.

I hate to say it, but Towson is for real. JMU and Towson both have some great defense, as well. Luckily for JMU, Enders cracked under pressure, unlike against us last year. Hopefully it becomes a habit.

Their offense is legit with Enders & West, but I'm not convinced about their defense.
When JMU went to the spread on that last drive they drove the ball easily down the field. I don't see Towson stopping Taylor & Co. on offense with the offense schemes we run.
If our defense can get its **** together we can go 11-0 and possibly give NDSU a contest in the playoffs, but right now that's a big IF with the way our defense has looked so far this season.

I wasn't very impressed. They both play much better defense than ODU, but let's be honest--they were each playing a one-dimensional offense with one real threat. In other words, you knew EXACTLY who was getting the ball nearly every play. That will not be the case when we play them, and from what I saw we should be able to score 30+ against them.
Now, as another poster said, our defense needs to get their act together and at least be average for us to win it all. Give us an average defense and I like our chances.

RE: 10/6 CAA Game Thread
Neither team is one we can take lightly with our defense or lack thereof.
But then again, neither team is one we should fear with our offensive capabilities and their lack thereof.
I think we can beat both teams but with both games being on the road, my gut says we drop one of them.
I'm just hoping if we do lose, we lose to Towson and shut those JMU losers up once and for all. God that would be sweet.

RE: 10/6 CAA Game Thread
Towson's "lack of offense" scored 39 points against us last year and ran the ball at will. I am really hoping that our defense will turn the corner this week. They looked better in the first half of the Richmond game.
