They made enough money last time the budget doubled. And instead of 250 theaters, it will open in over 800 this time.

Early reviews are that it is much much improved, but still not the real deal of the book.

That's the best endorsement you could possibly give this movie.

Looking forward to seeing it. Sounds as if was done better. I hate that part 1 and 2 will be disjointed.

If this particular cast works great, I say do part 3, then redo part 1.

That's not necessarily a knock. The book was philosophically long-winded and loaded with unnecessary anecdotes.

Furthermore, it is quite dated (passenger rail is a gov't teat-sucking liability now).

You could easily update it w/ Dagny running Taggart Air*, while James keeps consuming profits and pursuing subsidies to keep Taggart Passenger Rail going. I think the conflict between the two would be more apparent to viewers, and more understandable. You could also readily demonstrate James' clinging to passenger rail as counterproductive when he misses opportunities to strengthen freight rail, making "opportunity cost" understandable to the layman.

*Makes more sense that Dagny can just take off in a plane to go chasing Galt.
