I honestly don't even see the purpose of making those sorts of speech illegal, it gives them legitimacy that they never would have if it were legal.

I expect people to have opinions that I find stupid, ridiculous, and/or offensive.

The whole point of the 1st Amendment is to protect unpopular speech. Popular speech doesn't need protecting.
