Ann Coulter with another winning comment
She tweeted last night

Quote:Been busy but is Obama STILL talking about that video? I had no idea how crucial the retarded vote is in this election.

Because any other candidate whose opponents literally said he doesn't care about 47% of the populace wouldn't keep that at the forefront of their entire campaign?

Is that sort of like likening your bowling score to what might be bowled in the Special Olympics?

And he didn't say he didn't care about them personally. He was talking about process and who to seek to convince to vote for him. He said those would never vote for him so he wasn't going to try and convince them to.

The only thing worse politically than what Romney said was the way the left has bastardized it.

Every time Obama mentions Romeny and the 47% he pisses off the other 53%.

Not to my niece who works with special needs children. It's the actual word itself - retarded - that gets her outraged. She was the one who sent me the tweet to begin with.

So it was hilarious when Obama said on national TV his bowling was like that in the Special Olympics? No inappropriate at all?

So the standard for outrage these days is actually using the word outright, not insulting those who are special needs through innuendo. Or is it just when a pundit tweets it but the President of the United States gets a pass on national television?

They didn't bastardize it, and it wasn't taken out of context. He might have meant it in another way, but the words they were using were said in the same manner as he used them in. They didn't edit out him clarifying his meaning or something, you're just projecting your views on what you think he said, along with accepting his explanation afterwards, onto those statements.

I tend to agree with you on what his intended meaning probably was, but that doesn't mean that the Dems or their PACs are misrepresenting the actual statements made in the least.

Saying that Romney cares nothing about them is bastardizing it. And that's what they are saying.

Eh, yeah I'll grant that it's a bastardization but considering that video along with his comments about 'not caring about very poor people', it's nowhere near as bad as we've seen by both parties in other races. It's more Romney misspeaking than his opponents bastardizing his comments though IMO.

He clarified his remarks my saying " that 47% of the American people act like “victims” who are dependent on government and are “unwilling to take responsibility for their lives.”

He attacked them personally - How is the intent of the coment just to say he does not care about their votes.

So while this feeds the Republicans base sterotypes - it turns off a lot of moderates.

The best thing is that Mittens he is now spending his ad dollars explaining his remarks! Obam,a is using his Mittens remarks in his comnmercials.

While DC is not competitive at the Presidentak level, Virginia is and receiving a lot of commercials form Both parties and PACS at the presidential leval. And also for the Virginia Senate race.

Many of the 53% already suport Obama, as many of the 47% are part of the republican base. The impact of this has been to drive many undecided moderates away form Mittens.

The beauty of the tape is that it speaks for itself. The latest Obama ad is just 30 seconds of the Romney video-- just Romney talking while you hear the silverware and china in the background as the millionaires are eating, with superimposed pictures of ordinary Americans. And it's effective as hell.

No voiceovers. No cutting Romney off mid-sentence. No "paraphrasing" of his comments. Just his comments.

Shocking example of just how low Obama will go:)

This is the gift that keeps on giving.

The next one will be when Romney pulls a Rick Perry and says he will put boots on the ground all over the world to protect the interest of big oil to fire up his base.

It's also far worse having this sort of thing said in a closed dinner function to his wealthiest supporters, as it comes off as his true feelings and makes it hard to distance himself from it publicly because people assume he's just saying stuff to win back votes and is not an indication of how he actually feels.
