If Obama had just one term, he would try to blame all of his failures on the other presidents that served before and after him.
If he serves a full eight years, there will be no way for him to hide his failures. He will be exposed. History will show that he was in far over his head.
Unfortunately, there will be so much damage to this country that it will take decades for us to recover. But at least we'll have some satisfaction in knowing there won't be an Obama face added to Mount Rushmore. A 21st century James Buchanan.

RE: The only good thing about a second Obama term.
It already is going to be history's Pandora Box.
Whites had slaves 150 years ago.
Whites give unlimited concessions - (Affirmative action, etc)
Blacks squaller all opportunites to emerge from poverty, as a hole
Whites elect black president from guilt.
Blacks again squaller opportunity, despite most racist President in history.
Black President is utter failure.
------
The future looks pretty bad for the blacks, thanks to Obama... Despite his best efforts "to the cause.". His legacy will be more Malcolm X than Martin Luther King... Don't need 4 more.
RE: The only good thing about a second Obama term.
The economy is expected to grow significantly in the next four years (at least, assuming the fiscal cliff gets addressed) and whoever is in the White House will get credit. That's why Clinton is going all-in for Obama: he knows after 4 years of growth under a Democratic president Hillary will have a cakewalk to the White House.
RE: The only good thing about a second Obama term.
That's not a good thing.
I want America to prosper. If Obama's a blind squirrel who finds the nut, and America prospers in spite of him, I really don't care if history gives him the credit.
I do think, though, that IF America gets back on the horse in the next 4 years, it will indeed be in spite of him.

Fiscal cliff, EU breakup, soaring food prices, China slowdown, war in the Middle East sending gas prices up, boiling tensions between China and Japan (the world's 2nd and 3rd largest economies), etc...2013 is going to be a very ugly year.
Once again, your failure to grasp satire (or at least irony) shows up in your own words, and the title of this article: Experts say economy should grow despite who wins White House in Nov.
A somewhat objective title would have used "regardless". Had it been more cynical (and accurate) it would have said "in spite of". This is nevertheless a very Freudian choice of words.

Yes I'm sure the web layout copy editor of The Hill operates on many levels I can't even begin to comprehend. Do you cut out newspaper clippings and paste them on your bedroom wall and tie them all together like in A Beautiful Mind?

My own expectation is that the economy is going to come totally unglued in the next four years, regardless of whoever is elected. We are on an unsustatinable path, and neither Romney nor certainly Obama shows any inclination to change course. The one variable is timing, we could conceivably hang on for another four years. But things are not going to get better. We may do some things like QE 3/4/5 or another round of "stimulus" in some form, which may improve short-term appearances, but with multipliers in the 1.25-1.5 range, none of that is going to have any long-term effect but harm. We are in the long term that Keynes warned about, and we are not dead.
Maybe I'm wrong. I hope and pray that I am. But I don't think so.

People shouldn't expect that to happen without doing anything to get us there, and that's where I think the problem lies: people think it's inevitable that things will turn around so they don't give a crap about the hole we're currently in.
