Where in the Constitution does it mention the federal government having the authority and the duty to redistribute wealth? I don't think redistribution ever came up as an issue back in the 1780's when the Constitution was written.

It's very similar to what the MLB, NFL,NBA,IRS do. It keeps things fair, otherwise the richer get richer and the poor get poorer until there is no way to become poor or rich.
