That is the whole point right there. and that is where the differences come in. It's just sad that common sense is no longer common.
We all want to be treated equally and have the same protections of the federal government. Well, how much does it cost each of us? Is $400.00 a week or $20,000 a year fair to everyone? More? Less? Whatever the amount every man, woman and child should have to pay the same amt for the same benefits and rights. That is factually and truely fair, right?
The only other way anybody can logically argue another "fair" way would be percentages, but, EVERYBODY would have to pay the same percentgages, no deductions, no credits. Then we could more easily agree on what that percentage of income should be.
Only then would EVERYBODY be interested in our federal budgets and how many hundreds of billions of dollars are being wasted each year. Why would anybody care if taxes are going up as long as they are not paying the same amount? Simple answer and obvious one is they don't. Ex. A DR makes $500,000.00 a yr and is taxed at 30% and pays $150,000.00 a yr to live in the great country. If the repubs lower the taxes on the rich to 28%... he still pays $140,000.00 per year compared to $0 for 47% of tax filers. What is fair and just about that? Nothing, yet all the dems want to say is "they want to lower the tax on the rich" as if to imply the rich are getting some kind of benefit...Really?
